Has anyone tried this fridge?

Looking to replace my old backpack-style little car-fridge.

Saw this online: it is about the right size to fit in the very small cubby of my campervan. In fairness, it only needs to hold a litre of milk and some fresh meat, maybe butter and ham, not much more than that.

Its 200 quid so we don't want to buy a dud. Waeco Tropicool TC 07

Anyone got experience of it?

Don't know anything about the Waeco Tropicool TC 07 12Volt Cooler but it seems very expensive.

Halfords have similiar-looking coolboxss with larger capacities for a fraction of the price.

That's very expensive. Aldi were doing a 50l one a few weeks ago for €50. The finish is a bit cheap on it but it does the job fine.

You get what you pay for, the tropicool will do 25 degrees below ambient temperature and has OK insulation

Most thermoelectic coolers will only do 18C and have rubbish insulation so a large amount of the heat removed is replaced via the poor thermal resistance of the box.

Those halfords ones are absolute ****e, very inefficient, very poor insulation.

If you only want a 7 liter capacity I would seriously consider a passive coolbox, you'd get one with fantastic insulation for similar money:

I have one I got in Lidl about ten years ago and it's brilliant, it will keep a bag of ice for three days with out plugin it in. with any fridge, put a 2ltr bottle of frozen water or milk in it.

Has anyone tried this fridge?
