Looks like a Taylor - van Gerwen final then. Taylor looking like the Taylor of old tonight.

Never gave Anderson a look in. Very much won by Taylor as opposed to Anderson losing it.

I wonder is the format too long. Players get a few legs behind and it's all over. I wonder if a shorter format to 11 work better?

Guy had sign taken off him during Phil Taylor interview. Said "I signed Rich Kelly". Don't see what's wrong with that?

It's a long format alright. Players start to get a bit dispirited when they know they have a mountain to climb. On the other hand though when it's a close game, it makes for tremendous viewing.

Taylor was good, but don't give him too much credit.

Anderson had one of those nights that he still has occasionally where he couldn't hit a double to save his life.

    The scoreline was a joke.

Taylor played aswell as he has in 2 or 3 years. He started almost every leg with a 140+ score, Any time Gary was on a double, Taylor had the pressure on. Gary didn't have all that many miseed shots at double anyway. Phil was ruthless and deserves the credit.

It's my favorite final anyway, This will be a gauge of where Phil's mind is. Often beat before he gets to the Oche against MvG.

Great to see Taylor winning last night. 56 years old and he's in the Matchplay final, that achievement can't be understated.

Hopefully he finishes the job tonight but I can't see it happening, unfortunately.

This is absolute tripe to be fair.

Taylor averaged 108 for the first half of the game. That's almost impossible to live with.

He out scored Anderson and piled on pressure non stop.

Anderson was 36% on doubles which isn't the worst by any means.

The first half, Taylor was super, but his average came down to 102 by the end. Anderson had plenty of chances that he just didn't take. And Taylor was clinical.

I should've been clearer. Taylor absolutely deserved the win and outplayed Anderson. But the scoreline flattered him IMO.

And I'll be shouting for Taylor tonight.

Come on now Phil, play your A game and don't be intimidated by him tonight.

Love to see him average 105+ again early and see what happens.

This could and should be epic.

Phil may have already missed his chance.

    That bull was huge already.

    Needs to stop buckling doubles.

Phil just loses it against MVG.

Michael will take control now. Can see it finishing 18-7 to MVG.

    This is embarrassing.

Can't believe I got sucked back into giving Taylor a shout tonight.

I literally have never seen another top level sportsperson so afraid of a rival. He poos his pants vs Van Gerwen every time. Just cannot handle the pressure once he goes behind him.

Its more like a barney v Taylor game tonight, mvg in total control as much as I hate saying it don't think Phil can come back I'd love it if he did though

    Stupid carry on from Phil.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,642 ✭✭✭crasy dash

If someone did that to him he would explode
Think he knows he can't pull it back so resorting to this now, thing is he was doing fine didn't need to do it he had mvg worrying.

Stupid carry on my arse. He was getting murdered and needed to do something, call it what you like but he's not going to roll over and let MvG hammer him.

It's worked too. Looks in much better shape now.

Even by Taylor's standards his behaviour is a joke

    Something like that

Probably talking about himself because he is acting a wanker tonight.

Greatest of all time but reduced to a classless prick.

    Taylor a vile individual.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,223 ✭✭✭marklazarcovic

Showing why he is unliked by so many, pathetic carry on from Taylor, totaly disrespectful to try get the crowd to put Mcg off when on his throw, mvg knows what he's at so it won't cost him hopefully

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,315 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

    Strange behaviour without a doubt.

He doesn't know how to deal with someone better than him after being on top for so long.

Have you ever seen Taylor do this kind of stuff when he's focused and winning. Not a chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,563 ✭✭✭✭peteeeed

    Phil the baby Taylor

After Taylor's antics tonight I'd love to see VG really rub it in to him by taking the board off the wall and getting him to sign the back of it.
