The arrow rain isn't random. The tell is very obvious, he slowly raises his bow above his head and fires.

First phase, the arrows will spread out in a cone around him and the second phase, the arrows will chase you. Easy to get away from by sprinting, don't roll.

Random in the sense running perpendicular seems to work sometimes and others no.

The tell is obvious of course.

Prepare to try 2 where they are playing through ds3. I'm finding it very funny, obviously not original as it's the second series but I'm still enjoying it

Dark Souls 1 DLC released about a year after the vanilla game, but i don't think the DLC was planned till after the games release
Dark Souls 2' first DLC released 4 months after the vanilla game.
Bloodborne DLC released 7 months after the vanilla game.
So i would take a guess and say the first DLC pack for Dark Souls 3 would released sometime in September. I also read that the second DLC will release early next year, but i don't know if there is any weight to that rumor

You need to keep close to Aldrich all the time during the fight, he only does his arrow barrage and soul spear when you are at length. When he disappears through the floor, stay middle of the room so when he appears it's easy to run to him. Usually if he goes under on one side of the room, he'll always go to either left or right on the other side.

Phase 1 Arrow Barrage is easy to dodge, just roll behind him.

Phase 2 Arrow Barrage can't be dodged, you need to run around the room in a circle to avoid it and also to avoid the soul spears afterwards.

When he starts to wind up the powerful horizontal slash, roll into him when he does it and you'll take no damage (if you time it correctly of course).

Following the run from the middle of the room into the corner to attack Aldrich wait for your stamina to regen fully before you start swinging to get the maximum hit damage from the latter hits.

Finally beat Aldrich. Got lucky in that he did more melee than ever before and only ran away once or twice.

Got a ring, used it for a certain purpose but now I don't know where.to go. Londo seems to be done.

You should check out the Extra Credits blind run on DS1, two devs discuss why DS's design is so good. I learned stuff anyhow.

    Having trouble with the dancer.

I can be patient enough tobget him to phase 2 regularly but it all gets a bit manic then and unfamiliar combos can.one hit you.

Might.need to find a few chunks to get my masamune past +6

I really hate the extra credits guys. They speak with such authority yet usually haven't a clue and have some very embarrassingly bad videos, the religion one was one of their worst.

Try the one where they say video games are moving on from being entertaining... like it's a good thing.

But they are game designers...GAME DESIGNERS!

    Oceris now.

Feel like he should be easy but on my 6th attempt.

    Back to one handing.

Edit: I seem to get hit/killed while I am prone a lot more in this, seems unfair. Essentially makes the attack that knocked you over a one hit a lot of the time.

In Bloodborne its possible to spam the roll button to get up faster from being knocked over. Don't recall if the same mechanic is in Dark Souls 3, but i wouldn't be surprised. Don't necessarily have to spam the button, but it works opposed to finding the right frames in the "getting to your feet" animation

Definitely something I experienced. Wasn't a massive amount but still something I noticed and felt was a bit unfair given the poise thing.

    Which one is Oceris again?

The scaleless Dragon in the Consumed Garden, the old king of Lothric. He's an entirely optional boss in the game.

The roll under and smack his arse boss :D

Yeah from my memory you could afford to be reasonably aggressive in that fight if playing melee. Well worth doing for whats beyond.

So I beat Ociris handily enough in the end. Gubdyr too, pacing of boss fights seems weird. Far easier than Aldrich or Dancer that proceeded.

In this weird (but familiar place now- on phone so can't use spoiler tags). I don't really get it!

It's time travel. At least according to a popular fan theory.

I was amazed at how the lighting threw me in that area first time. I should have known almost as soon as I got there where and what it was even when the boss fight happened and I was still surprised when I got to the end of it.

Ah yeah, I went through that area without dying, thought something was afoot ha. Sure you have to go that way to get to the other optional area towards the end. I still haven't finished it. On the last boss but never went back. Just about at the end of DS2 after finishing Bloodborne. What am I going to do then!!!!

    Oh there's dlc for DS2 I think

I really found the DS2 DLC to be an absolute slog.

Absolute armies you have to wade through to have another crack at bosses etc.

Edit: although as an aside, I bought the DS2 design works yesterday and its even better than the one for DS1. Huge, some incredible reproductions of box art from around the world as we'll as the usual interview and artist renders.

Just have a Ps4, was more thinking how will I get my fix. I enjoy the exploration part more as I mentioned previously. I'm off work until Monday week so will work through them, have to say though I didn't find the bosses as hard in DS2 as 3 but maybe that's because I got used to the mechanics in 3.

Have a lot if other great games to go through but the souls games grabbed me by the nuts the last few months. Actually might buy doom today.

How do you do co op invasion raides with other players

What are those colourful little stones I sometimes see invaders drop

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,384 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    Yes! Dragonslayer Armour down.

Not as hard as Dancer or Aldrich, but I had about three times where I had him down to his last bit of health and he either got me or managed to feck me off the edge.

I've so many questions. So many areas, like the Grand Archives I just entered are familiar.bit.not located where they should be. Why was a scaleless dragon the king?

I'm playing blind enough but look forward to getting answers when I finish.

Finished DS2 yesterday, didn't know you had to access the Dlc in game, started NG, then realised, another play through but shouldn't take too long.

Thanks I'll try finish DS3 today having not gone back to it since I got to the last boss!

On the off chance the guy posts here, shout out to the lad who dressed as a mimic at Dublin Comic Con at the weekend. Would have been epic if he tried to eat the RTE reporter :pac:
