kinda lame the way cities are where all the pokemon are at. would be cool if rare pokemon were in out of the way places.

Anyone else having problems with the game, when you track a Pokemon and the game crashes. and once you restart the app, it disappears off the nearby list and never pops back up? just happened to me, again. Electabuzz pops up, tried to track it but the game just froze on me and now he's gone. I know the game has just been released, but it's frustrating at times. I think I'll start playing, when it's running a lot smoother.

Got it today...crashed so many times I definitely spent more time trying to restart the app than I did actually playing! Were it not for my lifelong love for the series I reckon I'd have spiked my phone into the tarmac by now. In fairness I'm running it on an Iphone 4 so there could be issues in terms of the amount of processing power needed to run smoothly.

The little bits of play that I did get were very enjoyable however!

Sitting at my desk and out popped a porygon! Happy with today - caught so much in Tallaght, Magmar, pikachu, jynx, venomoth, pidgeot, hypno, fearlow and a seadra!

My GPs can't find me at my desk so it just wanders around during the day, great for hatching!

Going to dublin city centre tomorrow for some shopping. Can't wait as I haven't left dublin 12 since I got the game. Gonna drop a lure mkdike8for the first time there

That's swinging the same way, no?

Sorry what I should have said in addition was that the remaining 40% are low level pidgeys & rattatas

Still yet to find a pokemon within a mile of my house, walking around the countryside and nothing even popping up on the nearby list.

    Caught my first scyther defrickinlighted

On the flip side I had a freeze during 2 eggs hatching. They were only 2 kms but still. And I wasted an incense and a lucky egg because of crashes.

Limerick City is overrun by Drowzees...lol

Have also found in Limerick City Lickitung, Nidorana, Sandshrew, Poliwag, Nidoran, Exeggcute, Oddish, Staryu, Jigglypuff, Clefairy

Don't know how common any of those are.

I'm wondering is the distance covered more down to be measured by accelerometer in your phone and not your GPS. This would explain people not gaining distance while cycling and driving.

I've noticed that my phone (iPhone 6) tends to freeze when I tilt the phone or carry it in some other position than straight upwards. If I carry it steady in my hand, there are far less crashes/freezes. That's what makes me think the crashes and glitches are linked to the accelerometer somehow.

Got my first eevee today, as well as capturing a 300+ Golduck

The screen goes black when the phone is upside down as a power saving feature.

    Stupid question incoming!

How do my Pokemon level up and eventually evolve?

Have also found in Limerick City Lickitung

Saw the shadow but I couldn't narrow it down, where'd you find it?

Yup, which I assume is triggered by the accelerometer. I deliberately avoided rotating my phone in any way like that today and I had far less freezes than yesterday.

I'm looking for lickitung, sandshrew, exeggcute and clefairy, any tips on whereabouts to get them? It's really difficult to find anything with this god forsaken 3 pawprint glitch :(

They don't in the traditional sense we'd know from the classic games. You can use your candies and stardust to power the pokemon up a little bit (their cp is capped eventually though). Or you can use a stockpile of candies to evolve it (this will boost its cp a little too!)

I turned off power saving today and the only freezes I had was when Pokémon where in the ball. Normally it would freeze every 200m or so.

The lesson for me is turn off power saving and enjoy more Pokémon Go!

Had this tank in my pokeball earlier today and what does the game do?
    Well it freezes of course...

I left it frozen for about 2 hours before finally giving in and admitting it wasn't going to happen.
Delighted I took a screenshot first anyway, that's gotta be rare enough as is!

I find if it freezes you are best to close the app and restart generally the pokemon will re-appear, I'd a mr mime crash on me four times but each time restared app and sure enough he popped up in same place, caught him on the fifth anyway. Alsoworth checking your recent pokemon, applies for eggs too, I'd it crash on an egg hatch but checked my recent pokemon and there was a magikarp I didn't catch, it didn't appear in journal either, I don't think egg hatches do.

I can't remember exactly but I was around the milk market, ellen street, thomas street, bedford row, arthurs quay, sarsfield bridge and O'Connell Street between Abra and Arthurs Quay.

I caught a jigglypuff in Tesco Arthurs Quay lol

I have iPhone 6S and this happens me too. It's not that it goes in power save move. It just freezes on the map. Just when I'm walking and it's by my side but like that when I'm carrying it and looking at it the whole time nothing happens, minute I stop playing while I'm walking it freezes on the map then.

Thanks! Going to have to take a really good look around later in the week methinks! Between the Hunt Museum and Treaty Stone (kings island) is a goldmine of stops if you need them too!

I tried placing a Pokemon in a gym owned by my team earlier and it didn't have the option. the only option it had was to battle it, so I did for the prestige to go up, I defeated it and still had no option for me to place a Pokemon. it was only occupied by two Pokemon, so I know it wasn't full. has this happened to anyone else?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,692 ✭✭✭Loomis

Before it launched here, I downloaded it using my US iTunes account to see if it'd work or be geo-restricted, thinking my wife would play as she likes mobile games. Obviously it worked, and she's loving it.
During the test, I realised the game is cleverly done, so played it a bit myself. Problem is, early 30's and far too self-conscious to play in public.
Luckily, plenty of Pokémon appear while sitting at my desk in work. Caught about 20 Drowsee today (among others) just randomly opening the app throughout the day.
There's also two Pokéstops in reach from my desk. Two things I noticed about them; they get restocked very quickly after spinning, so it's a handy way to fill yer boots. And, attempting to spin them when your bag is full, it seems to still give me 50xp. Anyone else experiencing that?

You didn't raise its prestige enough. You probably needed to battle it several times.

That's the thing, I did. I battled it several times and raised it's prestige, I know how the gym system works, so I was confused to see the option wasn't there. maybe my game has glitched out, I have no idea. I'll head back up tomorrow and see what happens.

    Did someone else your spot?
