Skid, you forgot to mention highlights from this year's International Musical Eisteddfod at Llangollen are on S4C across the weekend - the best festival in the best country on earth :D

    Oooh the shame :o:)

If you want red hot Eisteddfod action, Llangollen is the only show in town.

Although the Urdd Eisteddfod also has it's moments, my sources tell me it went seriously large in Bridgend this year ;)

Lads, OT, I know, but I booked me flights n'all today.

I'm really, really going to see proper GNR in Seattle in August.

    Never actually thought this'd happen!

You won't regret it, not a chance.

If you run in to your old mate Slash, is there any chance you could record him on your phone saying something like

"Hey, I'm Slash - I'm on BBC Four most weeks, but even if I'm not then I'm watching it - so I never miss Beebrock on Boards.ie. For all your BBC Four (and other channels) music chat "

    :pac:

Do you have a female companion to record noises during the break? :D

I'm pretty sure if he sees a camera in front of him, he'll endorse the thread.

He seems to do it with most things, as we know.

He has favourite guitaists like Robbie Keane has boyhood clubs. :D

Hard to believe Granada were putting this out in a regional slot, hats off to Tony Wilson and whoever commissioned it, and whoever didn't tape over it.

The only ITV regions I ever experienced were HTV and UTV and this is a trillion miles from what they showed in their local opt out slots.

    Travis on BBC Four now

I was a big fan back in the day, their first album was a stonker, the second one was more commercial but had some tunes. They played a great set in the Olympia in about 1999

Fran looks about 76 now :(

Da Mode playing 'See You' on TOTP from '82. The song that got me into them when I were a nipper.

Hello, nothing much on this weekend - it'll probably be like this for a while as The Proms makes inrodes into the traditional BBC Four music schedule.
But sure maybe there's something new to you on, or a programme you want see again ...

Graham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme share the secrets to some of their most successful records, from the writing and the recording, to the tours and the tensions. Other contributors include the band's manager Harvey Lisberg, lyricist Tim Rice, broadcaster Paul Gambaccini, producer Trevor Horn, and musicians Stewart Copeland, Graham Nash and Dan Gillespie Sells

10.30pm & 2.10am The Old Grey Whistle Test: 70s Gold
Archive performances from the BBC music series, featuring Elton John, David Bowie, Captain Beefheart, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Curtis Mayfield, New York Dolls, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Brinsley Schwarz, Gil Scott-Heron, Blondie, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the Jam, Talking Heads, Iggy Pop, Cher and Greg Allman, Argent, Steppenwolf, Lindisfarne, Dr Feelgood and Johnny Winter

The film includes rare footage of the French musicians and features interviews with friends and close collaborators Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Michel Gondry, Peter Lindbergh, Leiji Matsumoto, Paul Williams, Joseph Trapanese and Pedro Winter

    Saturday

    8.35pm Pat Shortt's Music From D'Telly (RTE1)

The 10cc bio is worth seeing as is Frank Sinatra All or Nothing at All if anyone missed them the first time round.

That Pat Shortt music programme doesn't sound too bad!

    *embarrassed emoticon*

I wonder if it'll be on the RTE Player worldwide :)

It's a repeat, there were some gems in it first time round but it was a bit frustrating as the only played brief clips of some of the better finds. They should put up the full performances (and some of the old shows they were taken from)on the RTE Player.

Well worth a look if you can find a way.

As long as it's not Boyzone's first LLS appearance...again.

    8 Hal Robson-Kanu Street
    Holyhead
    Anglesey

    :)

Kudos to whoever booked the musical acts for 'No.73' :D

Although the less said about Iggy Pop's appearance, the better :O
