What other life has that five euro chicken experienced?

What life would it have if it wasn't bred for food?

Maybe you should take your own advice, regulations are very strict in slaughterhouses here in Ireland and if bad practices are highlighted then they are acted upon.

That's not to say every country is the same but there is no comparison to people watching a bull being tortured by an idiot in tights.

But the animals still end up getting killed so what's the difference in the end.

Should we not respect their traditions?

No. We only respect traditions "Syrian refugees" who merry their 10 y.o. girls and rape Europeans.

Truth be known (and something that vegans
don't discuss) is that cattle, pigs and chicken would be virtually extinct if people didn't eat them

Whenever we put chickens in a stadium and watch them being killed and cheer on their slaughterers then I would agree.

We don't though. Dressing in tight pants and taunting bulls is not comparable to be honest.

I saw cock fighting when I was in the Philippines. Gruesome stuff.
It originated in Ireland according to the locals so I was somewhat of a celebrity.

It is shown on TV there too

    Don't read Ernest Hemingway!

He did say the only sports are bullfighting, mountaineering and motor racing, the rest are games.

End result is the same so who really gives a ****e what happens before hand.

The bull has zero comprehension of what is happening to it.It doesn't understand it's being taunted for peoples entertainment.

Ice skaters, cyclists, gymnasts...if the tight pants gets you, you'll rule out a lot of sports...

Would you rather die quickly or have a dragged out torturous death? End result is the same but I know which one I'd prefer. The bull mightn't know it's there for the spectators but it feels fear and pain until it's killed.

Yes we were dicks in the past. Badger bating etc etc. There are still the odd few who do it but it's the very odd ones. Certainly not on tv. If they show cock fighting in the Philippines then I'm not that impressed.

I really don't think you were "somewhat of a celebrity" either.

    Catch yourself on.

I don't subscribe to your point of view at all.

People who watch and enjoy an animal sufferings so so called sport are the lowest of the low imo.

So you'd include anglers in that bracket I assume?

I'm not a big fan of anglers either tbh. What's your point?

Torturing an animal for a baying crowd is so stupid nowadays its barely believable.

Yes, I know chickens etc bred for food isnt good but what sort of pervert enjoys seeing an animal being taunted and killed like the Spanish Bulls?

I was there you weren't. I don't think I saw you unless you look Filipino. So in other words you have no clue how I was treated

In short your post was refuted so now you attack the poster

Probably a very minor one so..........

Why aren't people outraged at people killing and torturing fish for their own pleasure yet they are with bullfighting. There is no difference between the 2 but one just happens to be a trendier cause.

Cockfighting (and even partridge and quail fighting) were a feature of ancient Greece and Rome.

Fish are caught then either eaten or put back on the most part. And I don't necessarily agree with that either.

Anyway watching a large mammal like a bull being taunted and killed in a stadium is so a few centuries ago.

I suppose you have no problem with badger baiting, dog fighting either then. Sure it's only a bit of craic isn't it?

I just had a watch of it on live leak , I can't find it in me to feel sympathy for anyone who gets hurt or killed doing this , take a look at the video and see the condition of the bull with swords sticking out of its neck and blood running down his shoulders , it's a fight and not a fair fight that .

The bull got slaughtered in the end but at least it went out fighting , good job bull

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 246 ✭✭dsaint1

Yep, just watched it on liveleak too, a clear case of self defence on behalf of the bull...

Bullfigthing is a shame for Spain.

Its support has decreased A LOT there but it still moves a lot of money

I know only one person who likes it under 35, but maybe in the south of Spain is more popular

What happened is sad, but it's even more sad every bull killed just for fun

There is no difference.Animal suffers pain as part of entertainment.

It's just one is apparently a more noble cause than the other.

They have all kinds of mad festivals in Spain from pelting each other with tomatoes to flinging goats off towers, they like their traditions there and you have to admire how rich in tradition their culture is. Anybody see the one where towns and villages compete to build the tallest human pyramids? Right at the top (about 40 feet in the air) is where the little kids goes!
The Spanish give zero fukks about health and safety that's for sure!

I'm sure the bull fighter accepted the risks and was prepared to take them.
