I didn't update my phone in ages as I had it rooted but now it's magically unrooted..weird?

But I too have recently noticed pathetic battery life but that may be down to Facebook forcing people to use the messenger app as you can't send messages over Brower no more.

Does anyone else regularly get missed calls as you cannot feel the phone vibrating in your pocket? I have this problem on my last 3 Samsung phones. I had ab iPhone 4s before then and I would feel it vibrating fine. This alone is making me consider finally leaving Samsung and trying out another device.

This might sound stupid but do you have the vibration turned on for calls? The only reason I say is I noticed this on the S6 and s7edge mine was disabled by default I had to go in and turn it on.

As regards the battery I recently updated to G935FXXU1APF2 and it does seem a little heavier on battery. I'm thinking of just getting rid of Facebook as its such a battery hog (and the fact it annoys me in general ha)

Yeah it's turned on. I notice it sometimes and usually I look at my phone and see missed calls. It's so annoying.

Fb apps are a joke. Maybe try greenifying them

I got 11hrs 30mins out of my last charge which is pathetic. I've 7hr 30mins usage out of my current charge and I'm at 70% so it seems to have settled down for the moment.

Is the Facebook app one of the pre installed unremovable apps on this phone? Want to buy it on Vodafone but this would put me off

Been given a present of a OP3 and am considering selling the s7...am I mad? The OP3 hasn't been delivered yet but looking at the reviews it seems overall it's a step down?

Anyone know a realistic price for a clean, factory unlocked S7 flat with VR Headset, S-View, Samsung leather case, Otterbox, speck and a few more bits with receipt? Looking on adverts prices seem a bit all over the place.

Had a OPO ages ago and really liked it but at the same time I'd happily keep the S7. I was deliberately avoiding watching reviews and the like to stop me wanting one and now I'm playing catch up since it's en route at the moment. Reviews seem positive but maybe not as positive as the S7.

For me the negatives of the edge are starting to outweigh the positives, especially since updates ruined the main positive the phone had. I'd thought about waiting for a new Nexus buy HTC are putting me off that, so the OP3 looks like the next logical choice. The reviews sound good for it, yes there's been a load of guff about the screen but if you're like me and will never bother with a VR headset again then it's zero issue. Even with a great screen on the Samsung, the Gear VR was shîte.

HTC putting you off a nexus? That's most Android enthusiasts wet dream! Definitely be keeping an eye on that.

OP3 is definitely a step down from the S7. Reviews take into account the price, and rightly they should. Head-to-head, Sammy wins.

Did you guys try disabling your Google data backup to see if that improves your battery drain? You'd have to assume the next software update will fix it. It's a shame Sammy are generally rubbish with their software updates.

It's companies like HTC that finally make Sammy up their game with quality of construction, even if they still fall short.

If you're purely talking about aesthetics, then to each their own.

The 10 feels great in hand. The M9 and M8 were probably slighly better. You've actually used the 10, or you're just basing it on what you've seen?

I also have the S6 edge+ and that is probably the worst device to hold that I've ever owned. It needs to be in a case.

Regardless, I think it's pretty crazy to let go of a phone due to a software update, which can be remedied by another update. That's why I keep going back to HTC again and again. Outside of Nexus devices, they have the best software support of any Android device provider.

Gear VR is nice to see the potential but I'd agree - it's not really a comfortable experience for the eyes. 1080p screen wouldn't bother me in the slightest either. Might give it a shot over the Samsung anyway. The S7 has been great but I prefer closer to stock android tbh.

Apologies if this has already been asked here

Anyone else having difficulty streaming audio on the s7?

One of my main uses for a smart phone is running while listening to music and tracking distance

New s7 driving me nuts - keeps stopping music or radio streaming while I run. Will stop after three or four minutes. Have to take phone out of pocket, unlock and restart. Pain in the hole.

Interestingly if I hold the phone in my hand it doesn't do this. As such I figured that the vibration in my pocket was somehow pausing or stopping the music. Tried disabling notifications and putting a password lock on the screen but it still didn't work. Also ran with a plastic bag around the phone, no joy.

At one point I was running with soundcloud on and a password on the lock screen. Yet the s7 still managed to stop soundcloud and start another media player in my pocket playing some random video I recorded, with a lock screen and password on? How is that even possible?

Happens with rte app and internet radio app too

I'm at end of my tether here. Tired of this ****e with android products. Stuff working then not working after updates. I had some really good apps on old phones, used to auto answer calls and read my texts to me when I had headphones in, great for running or in car wired up to the stereo. Don't work on new phone. Drives me nuts.

Also whenever you get a new phone, which is probably every year, it takes about a week to re setup the phone the way you want it. No app to do this reliably. Also you have to rebuild your personal dictionary. No way i've found to transfer it without a moveable sd card.

Google search takes me to an android forum suggesting power saving mode is the problem for the streaming issue but that's not activated on my phone.

Any ideas? EBay bought s7 so not network specific. 600 loots for this crap.

I got this one delivered today - https://www.t-dimension.com/uk/samsung-galaxy-s7-g930fd-dual-4g-lte-32gb-silver-mutli-unlocked-phone.html and I can confirm that it is indeed 'Titanium Silver'.

It even says it on the box.

Same here, before that last update I was easily getting 24 hours usage I'm on target now for 12hours on this charge that is some drop in battery performance. I'll be on too Samsung if this continues.

I had a similar problem with my phone but it turned out it was the custom launcher.
First step is to open Settings/Battery, click on the projected remaining time map and see if you have any wakelocks!! If you do, that's your problem.

I then put my phone in safe mode and after 12 hours could tell that the phone was not killing the battery. It had to be an app. So i systematically uninstalled various apps over time until i discovered the offending app. Since I have uninstalled it, my wakelocks are gone, and battery life has almost doubled.

    What are wavelocks ?

    What are wavelocks ?

Wakelocks are calls to the operating system to perform a function, so for example a Facebook app might call the Android System to ping the Facebook serves to check for notifications.
What should happen is that when in sleep/doze, the operating system idles using little battery and makes the odd check to servers to check for incoming notifications. Google servers try to group these notifications to minimise calls from your device.

But some apps can malfunction, due to a combination of bad programming or unforseen combination of events, either way the app keeps waking up the operating system to perform some function. It shows up on your device as Android System killing your battery but in reality, its the app calling it is the culprit.

Putting your device in safe mode disables such apps and therefore you can verify if it is indeed the Android System killing the phone. I would say in most cases it's an app.

    What app was it?

    Hi all,

What's the difference between the dual SIM v single SIM S7 edge? Bar the obvious...

Do you have to have two Sims in? Looking at tdimension website and the dual is cheaper, is there an reason for this? I wouldn't require dual SIM but if there's no difference I'd just buy the cheaper phone.

Also, does anyone have experience dealing with tdimension in terms of returns or warranty? Do they provide a Samsung warranty?

    Thanks

In my case it was Nova Launcher.

But it can be any number of apps. My advice would be to uninstall 2 apps every 2 hours. Before you uninstall each two, check the battery graph in Settings, and especially if bar is appearing beside wakelocks. It's time consuming for a day or two, but at least you have piece of mind for ages afterwards.

I have a single sim in a One Plus Two which takes two sims and the phone does not need two sims. I would expect the S7 to be the same.

Don't you lose the memory card space?
