    I tried the Fn key but no joy unfortunately unless I'm doing something wrong. Wrecking my head this issue.

    Ha believe me that was the first thing I did. Actually I can scroll around on the login page using the track pad so maybe that's not the issue? But when I click into the box to enter the password I can't type anything?

    Password or PIN? NumLock is always turned off on mine when it boots up.

    Password, from Googling it it seems to be in relation to the keyboard locking out? I have a two year old who may have been messing with it. No idea how to get it back. Keyboard still works as in if I press space it goes back to lock screen, and space again brings me to password screen, I just can't click into the password field for some reason.

    You haven't a USB keyboard / mouse you could try?
