I heard that one today. I think it starts off with one of them telling the other to watch out for a guy on a bike. I thought it was a road safety ad to start with.

    the new lotto ad:mad:

Interesting that Lotto see their clients as being slightly touched Gobsh1tes with a speech impediment.

    The Nissan actually ad.

Who actually thinks this sh1te is:
    a) funny?
    b) clever?
    c) anything other then ear-stabbingly awful for people to have to hear once, never mind repeatedly, ad-nauseum?

It boils my p1ss to think of hipster marketing 'gurus' slapping each other on the back when they come up with dross like this.

I think I'm losing years off my life from radio ads..
The sooner someone invents a radio player app with ad blocker enabled, the better!

Pat Kenny's Newstalk Ad for his book club is very annoying.

The god awful Supermacs Chicken "Sangwedge" tv ad has made it to radio.

"How many of our competitors can say that?"

None, they can all pronounce the word correctly.

Bill Cullen has no understanding of the concept of "shame", such as "shameful Ssangyong sh*tbox".

I know its not an ad but a show promo but jennifer maguire shouting youve won 1000 euro is annoying.

    Skowdaa...simply clevorrrrr...just like me.

I happen to think the Skoda Superb is one of the finest cars not only in its class, but in general. However that ad would seriously make me reconsider buying one were I in the market. Treating its target market like f**king fools. Piss off Skoda.

    "Omg new car?"
    "You know me!"

Then she rabbits on about Fiat dealers and mentions T's&C's, y'know, just like you would in a normal conversation.

The one for City Colleges also (usually on Classic Hits 4fm) with that ponce, Philip Burke, talking about his "preparatory papers."
The way he says "preparatory" makes me think he's got seven plums in his gob.

I actually admire Bill. It would have probably been easier for his just to turn over in his bed every morning after the Renault thing went badly for him(as it did for many people who were running garages). But he got up, took on the dealership with SSangyong (which in itself must have been embarrassing for him) and got on with trying to start from scratch again.

He did get people's backs up with his whole "You should work for free" thing a few years back, but I think he is to be commended for having the b*lls to start over again.

"And Meadows and Byrne", and it makes me want to throw the tranny out of the window, and stamp on it, and kick the wall, and Meadows and Byrne. Bolleaux.

Well said....this ad gets worse every time I hear it

Hard to believe that Skoda PR allowed this to go on the radio unless they're specifically targeting the niche Cavan (?) market

The insurance Ad about poor old Dominic really hits a new low. It's right up there with the ones about the caring undertakers and Orla helping mum to change her will.

The Beyonce concert ad - what exactly is an "Excellent Production" ticket ???

A "production ticket" is one that was retained to be used for promotional purposes and wasn't and is now being sold. They're claiming them to be excellent ones, apparently.

I thought my colleague and I were the only ones! I bloody hate this series of ads.

Also the Inchidoney Island Lodge and Spaaaaaaaaa advert is seriously headwrecking however it hasnt been on for a while

Your man from The Sound Shop in Drogheda that seems to be played on Nova at every ad break. A jovial sounding sort of chap at first, but the adverts are tiring at this stage. Maybe if they were played every so often, it would be grand.

    Bye bye now!

Another rare good one - the "take the train" ad for IE makes me laugh every time!

    "not my new handbag" :D:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,009 ✭✭✭✭wnolan1992

There's an ad at the moment which I can't quite decide whether I like or hate...

Can't remember the product, think it's some car company, and it starts off with a sound technician saying "[Product name] advert, take one!", then a kid reading the script, followed by the technician sighing and saying "Next!".

The more I hear it, the more it irritates me for two reasons:
    1) Kids on the radio generally annoy me
    2) It's starting to infuriate me that there isn't a "Take 2!" featuring a real upbeat "Wahey! Wazzul Wazzul!" VO artist, similar to those you'd have for ads for Oxegen back in the mid-00's...

If they'd done the thing where they had one ad at the start of an ad break and another at the end this could have been a really funny campaign...
