If they created an account just to say thanks, then fair play. First step on the road from lurker to poster.

I was looking for a wireless one but found a 1tb Toshiba for €21 in clearwater instead. Just got lucky, it was hidden behind on one of the shelves.

Actually I also saw an empty box of 1tb segate wireless. Looking at the box, it was badly opened and I suspect it was nicked.

Also found a Tesco own brand 32gb USB key for €5. It's probably USB 2.0 but good value for the price.

Lol, guess I should have tried harder, enjoy!:P:D

The below is a general 'signature' and not part of any post:

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

I noticed they have on the website the Toshiba 1Tb Portable Hard Drive for €21.03 it shows as stock but must depend on the delivery/collection point, not available for me when I select my address or collection in Stillorgan goes to unavailable.

For me I get the message "Sorry this product is currently unavailable." when I put it in my basket, so probably gone :)

    Try changing to collection.

No, it won't work says unavailable. However you can still get a 500GB for 16 euro which is good value. Only available to collect from a number of stores in Dublin, Cork, Portlaoise and Tullamore though. It might be of use to someone else here:

Careful.. I know a guy who did this and they had none so they substituted the hard drive with 5Kg's of bananas! *

    * may not have happened!

Has anyone experience here of the collection system? I'm not near the collection point but a friend has kindly agreed to collect for me. After I paid, the notes said the collector must show the credit card used for the transaction ... is this asked for in practice?

It's a pain the description is so bad on the website, not model or if USB 2 or USB 3, Did anyone get them in the shops that can confirm a possible model number for the Toshiba 1Tb Portable Hard Drive?

Still at least one of each in Roscommon. They're in the safe behind the customer service desk, so ask there.

I used the link to find them on the Tesco site, added to my basket and proceeded to checkout. Then I selected click and collect, it gave me the options of the stores which the product could still be picked up in.

I just signed up for tesco home delivery ,added to basket v 500gb hard drive €16, but none of the tesco that have it are anyway near me, so clicked on delivery for €3 ,accepted delivery address (,expected unavailable), but all details seem to go through, if i go ahead with payment, will they delivered it to me even if it will not be in stock at my local tesco ?

    No.

If you buy food from Tesco and they dont have it in stock from your local, you just get a refund. Id say the same applies for a hdd.

Nothing to lose, either you will get your money back or hard disk.
