Any idea who was targeted here? They used a photo of Gary Hutch, but somehow I don't think he's still driving expensive cars...

If lifting a car is the significant blow that the chief superintendent says, then these guys are not the big time gangsters we've been led to believe.

Jeez, no I doubt it... I wonder is it this clown? certainly doesn't look like a credible state witness!

im guessing the state witness is <snip>name removed </snip> the man jonathan dowdall and his father have been charged with intent to commit false imprisonment on, hes also a well known fraudster who had been using done deal to meet with people selling cars and motorbikes and getting their names and bank details and promising to do a money transfer in to their accounts which he never did and used their details to commit scams

he would be a chancer but did have involvment with some inner city criminals you wouldnt know what he knows. When you search him on google it says down the bottom

Looks like <snip>removed name</snip> has upset a good few people, and didn't care who they were.

    link removed

Could be a transaction that a smart ass thought would get away with, don't blame them if that's it, most of us would love to do the same but might not have the means, they just went a bit over the top if true.

    Thread closed.

This thread has moved away from the actual shooting incidents and turned into a gossip column on anything or everything linked to crime. There is too much speculation on people, mod warnings being ignored, naming people that may or may not be involved in anything.

If there is any more gangland shootings that take place, the thread may be re-opened.

We're reopening the thread due to a man being shot yesterday. Please keep in mind speculation is not welcome and any violations of the mod instructions in the first post will be deal with quite seriously, as this thread is nothing but a timesink for us. Feel free to contribute but stick within the rules, thanks.

Re the murder of dotty douglas yesterday

one theory being explored by the murder inquiry team is that he was killed by the Kinahans because the gang believed he was part of a conspiracy to shoot one of its senior members in a west Dublin pub last November.
Gardaí are trying to establish if the Kinahan cartel was behind the wounding of Douglas in a shooting last November and the murder of his associate Darren Kearns last December.

That's from irish Times link won't post

    Also as mickthehack tweeted.
Everytime there is shooting the firearm is left at the scene. .that shows how much firepower the KC have at there disposal...

Was his still involved with drug selling looks like he card was well marked before the first hit attempt.

    De Oirish Mirror reporting:
On November 8, he survived a murder bid after being shot while he walked his dog. A hitman linked to the Kinahan gang blasted Douglas near his home in Cabra, North Dublin.

    Irish Times
Gardaí believe gangland killing linked to the Kinahan-Hutch feud

The Independent seem to think that he got younger since the first attempt. He was 54 in November, and 53 yesterday.

Also stating that he was the victim of a double cross.

If fairness the guns themselves are relatively cheap compared to what they pay people. 100k would probably get you 20+ new hand guns and they already have the smuggling routes to get them in.

While i'm sure that's true. IMO it's a tactic used primarily so as not to get caught with it during the escape. Is it just the Kinahans who use this tactic though?

You'd get twenty handguns for half that.

And he also mentioned the amount of guns being left at or near the scene & quipped, why? Because they are all clean and never used before.

Must be a lot of guns available to them?

Well the IRA are known for keeping the weapons after a hit to be used again

Bought a few bits off Daithi and his wife in the Fairyhouse market a year or so ago, pleasant enough chap to deal with but obviously his fingers were in a few pies. Did a couple of big stretches too inside. Some man to play a tin whistle.

I wonder who was behind this shooting the Kinahans or the Hutches? I read that he was no longer a target for the Kinahan gang or was that just a tactic to lure him back.

Why would the hutch side want to kill him?
