signed up with a new email address and used my visa debit card. Cheers op!

Any time I tried to reuse a credit card it came up telling me I had already used up a trial, so it definitely does look for duplicate accounts based on credit card number.

It obviously doesn't as I was able to sign up using the same debit card I've used for a previous account.

Maybe you were lucky then. I tried with a completely new email address, entered my previously used cc and I get this message:
Looks like you've already taken a similar offer

It looks like you've already taken a free trial or discount offer. Our regular Spotify Premium plan is just a click a way. Click continue to read more.

Spotify are doing a deal right now which gives you 3 months Premium for just 99 pence, they're also doing this deal which I think is excellent.

Spotify Family Plan Gets an Upgrade
Posted on 2016/05/23 by The Spotify Team

Just in time for summer, we’re happy to share that starting today, Spotify Family Plan now provides families with up to six individual Spotify Premium accounts for only £14.99 a month (or local pricing).
Already on the Family Plan? Don’t worry, you still get everything you’ve come to love! Your Family Plan still includes separate accounts, your own playlists, personal recommendations and offline listening, but now at a better price, updated from your next payment date, and the ability to add even more family members to the same plan.

The upgraded Spotify Family Plan offers the same world-class music experience as before, but now provides even more family members with access to over 30 million songs for just one low price payable on a single bill.

With the Spotify Family Plan, listeners get:

Separate accounts. Everyone gets their own account with their own playlists, saved music and personal recommendations.
Premium for everyone. Everyone on the plan gets the full Spotify Premium experience. Listen offline to more than 30 million songs. Play any song, anytime, on any device. No restrictions. No ads.
Better pricing. Music at your fingertips has never been cheaper for up to 6 people — all collected on a single bill.
Spotify’s new Family Plan is now available to all users globally*, so treat the entire house to Premium accounts from Spotify this summer.

To learn more about this new deal, visit: spotify.com/family, or simply head over to your Account Page here to add additional family members and get the same great pricing if you’re already on the Family Plan.

I haven't tried this, but people are confirming on other sites, if you sign up for 99c offer for three months, and then change the account to Family Premium, you get Family Premium account for 2 months for 99c.
After the 2 months, Family Premium is back to €14.99. It's not clear whether or not it is intentional by Spotify.

this worked for me - makes sense really - 3 months individual membership is the same as 2 months family

doesn't really make sense to use individual accounts does it?

Just to reply to my own question earlier
    ....
You can transfer over playlists by right clicking on the playlist and copying, then paste the links into a word doc... Then just paste the links into the search bar in the new Spotify account.

Sorry if someone answered that already.

When this offer ends, vodafone offer spotify with 500MB data for €5. You can even get this on PAYG

Grab a sim, top it up with €10 every 2 months and away I go

Are they strict about the family all having to have one address rule? Wanted to get my siblings onto this but we all live in different places.

Not a personal experience but a friend of mine "traded" one of his family accounts for a neighbour's Netflix password :) Genius.

Raging i missed this. Could have done with it for my Holidays. Was half way through setting it up last night, and then got called away to do something else.

    Might try the vodafone route.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that you can add 6 different names onto the one account.

    Check here.

    https://support.spotify.com/uk/

Had a look earlier, looks like it's limited to one family.

Easy to pick up a PAYG card from Three specifically to use to avail of this offer.

Someone may be able to help me with this.

I want to get Spotify (Vodafone) but cant as I have a business phone.

If I put Spotify on my wifes mobile number is Spotify tied to her number / phone or can I log in myself on my phone or on my laptop ?

I know I wont get the data allowance but I have enough data on my phone anyway...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 667 ✭✭✭selfbuilder1

You can log in on any device but only one will be able to use Spotify at any one time.

    Cheers.

So If I text from her phone to enable Spotify what happens ?

Can I link it to my existing Spotify free or do I have to setup a new account ?
