Hello, it's all a bit quiet this week after the madness of Glastonbury. There is a triple bill of Punk Britannia on Friday night, and more Glasto on Saturday. If you enjoyed Jeff Lynne last weekend, there's a double bill of his BBC Four stuff on Saturday night from 1.35am. Not sure why it's so late, maybe they are trying to give the people still stuck in the mud in Somerset a chance to get home!

    Thursday
    7.30pm & 1am Top Of The Pops 1982 #2
Kid Jensen hosts the January 21 edition, featuring music by Gillan, the Mobiles, XTC, Jon and Vangelis, Phil Lynott, Meat Loaf, OMD, Christopher Cross, Foreigner and Bucks Fizz

    Friday
    7.30pm & Midnight Top Of The Pops 1982 #3
Simon Bates introduces performances by Tight Fit, Stiff Little Fingers, Elkie Brooks, Alton Edwards, Haircut 100, Olivia Newton-John, Stranglers and Shakin' Stevens

    9pm & 12.30am Punk Britannia Part 1/3
Pre-Punk 1972-1976 An insight into the musical landscape of the 1970s, exploring the development, influence and legacy of the punk genre, beginning with the rise of pub rock and the emergence of bands including Dr Feelgood, Ducks Deluxe and Kilburn & the High Roads. Featuring contributions by artists including Paul Weller, John Lydon, Mick Jones, Adam Ant and Wilko Johnson. Narrated by Peter Capaldi

    10pm & 1.30am Punk Britannia Part 2/3
Punk 1976-1978 The documentary reaches the pinnacle of the punk era, 1976 to 1978, exploring how bands including the Sex Pistols and Buzzcocks helped spread the genre's popularity around the UK. The Roxy nightclub in London's Covent Garden became a hotspot for bands including the Jam to gain support, but the Sex Pistols' split in 1978 proved a blow to the future of punk. With contributions by John Lydon, Mick Jones, Paul Weller and Siouxsie Sioux. Narrated by Peter Capaldi

    11pm & 2.30am Punk Britannia Part 3/3
Post-Punk 1978-1981 An insight into the post-punk era between 1978 and 1981, when a new generation of artists emerged, inspired by the genre's rebellious nature. Gang of Four and Scritti Politti infused their music with radical politics, while the Pop Group adopted an anti-capitalist sentiment. Featuring contributions by John Lydon, Mark E Smith, Jerry Dammers and Peter Hook. Narrated by Peter Capaldi. Last in the series

    Saturday
    11.15pm-1.15am Glastonbury 2016 (BBC2)
Another chance to see some of the highlights from this year's festival at Worthy Farm in Somerset, including many of the headline artists, and a selection of bespoke acoustic sets

The Electric Light Orchestra's first live performance in 28 years at Hyde Park, closing BBC Radio 2's Festival in a Day 2014 in front of a 50,000-strong crowd. Strange to see Covent Garden look like such a dump back in the 70's, compared to now.

I forgot i saw the ELO documentary before but can highly recommend to anyone who didn't see it. Bob Dylan folk documentary was so-so, I skipped through most of it. ELO in concert looked good but I saw them @ Glastonbury on TV last weekend so very similar.

I like to think Daniel & Friends is a makey up programme which RTE1 put into the schedules for Friday at 9.35pm just to wind people up.

They'll probably be showing Con Air instead.

King Tut's Wah Wah Hut now has it's own stage at T In The Park!

Always wanted to go there...sounds like a legendary venue.

That was where Alan McGee first clapped eyes on a band called Oasis and signed them straightaway to Creation...if only they'd made some sort of impact :D

Back in't day, T in The Park was the mirror image of Oxegen.

Whoever played in Scotland on the first day would fly to Punchestown the next and vice versa.

Those were the days, several good times were had there. Never see the likes again

Memories, Like the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor memories, Of the way we were ...
