I really don't think you'd have to be a bookie to have got that. I read the first two years back so I don't think anything I know was from the books, but in the show we know...

    1) Jon was taken back with Ned after the war between the Baratheons and the Targareons.
    2) Ned claimed he was his bastard but revealed to no-one, not even his wife who the mother was. very out of character for Ned.
    3) We were told Leanna was taken by Rheagar and killed by him.
    4) Leanna was engaged to Robert so if it was his son then surely Robert would have raised him.
    5) When Sansa and Littlefinger were talking in the crypt about Leanna he was telling her that Rheagar gave leanna a flower and Sansa replied "Yes, he chose her, and then he kidnapped her and raped her."

That link is all about this theory but all apart from the very last slide only refer to events int eh TV show. Even the last one mentions the books but only a reference to the title of the books so it's not spoilery at all.

Am I right in thinking that Ned referred to John as his blood not his son when speaking to him at some stage in season 1?

    No, just his blood.

He doesn't give away much really. At least they got Sean Bean to be a bit emotional about Jon's mother. Plays into the fact that it was his sister.

It won't be so one sided if Euron manages to attack her armada and drown a bucketload of her dothraki.

with the dragons around? he won't stand a chance

    No, just his blood.

Yea that's what I mean, he said "you are my blood" to John he didn't say you are my son.

Yah, I suspect at some point in the future a dragon riding dany will be about to turn Jon to charcoal and then hesitates as it senses Jon's true parentage. End scene. Fade out.

Or tries to burn Jon, but fails becoz he's targarian...

The scene with Cersei and the Nun was absolutely horrifying,

Especially when this was going on she had left Tommen alone- he just saw his wife die along with hundreds of his subjects so could have done with some comfort...

While the suicide was funny in that it reminded me of IT Crowd, I was still rather sad as Tommen is a good kid.
He first missed his sister who he was close to when she moved to Dorne, he was tormented by Joeffrey growing up with one example being Ser Pounce being threatened to be skinned and fed to him, he was never groomed to be King - when he was king he was being manipulated by Cersei, Margarey and first Tywin - who he Seemed to take the most council from before he too was killed. He also had to watch as his favourite Uncle was put on trial for killing his brother.
When Tywin was killed he was being pulled back and forth by Cersei and Margarey until High Sparrow filled the power vacuum Tywin had left.
He seemed to genuinely want to be a good ruler and knew if he sent the army into the Sept to get his wife and mother there would be a riot as the people of Kingslanding had turned to the religion..
I know he is seen as "weak" but under a different narrative Tommen would almost be the doomed hero

..he did get to bang Margarey though so swings and roundabouts...

Love the episode. This and the previous episode make up for the three preceding ones which suffered from fairly poor writing (compared to the high standard GoT has set itself).

    A few points:

    - As others have mentioned, I loved the style of the opening. Good to see the show being innovative like that

    - Cercei’s inauguration was brilliantly foreboding. There was no real sense of satisfaction or victory in Lena Headey performance during that scene. She has turned into a complete uncaring sociopath and has the potential to be even more unpredictable and dangerous than Joffrey. He reaction to Tommen’s death compared to her reaction to the death of her other two children marked a real turning point for her. And Jamie knows this isn’t good either.

    - I’m really looking forward to Dany and Tyrion vs Queen Cercei. I really hope the writers don’t disappoint.

    - I predict a major event next season will be the White Walkers breaching the wall and attacking Winterfell. In fact, I think the two main storylines will be White Walkers vs Jon, and Dany vs Cercei

    - I’ve wanted Frey to die horribly ever since the red wedding, so I obviously loved Arya killing him. It almost makes up for the fairly poor writing her character was saddled with once she left the hound.

    - Now that Tyrion is returning to Westeros, let’s hope the writers give their best character more to do.

    - I loved Olenna speaking for the audience and quickly dismissing those Dorne “warriors”

    - Jon has never had much of a desire for the Iron Throne, so an obvious way the whole show will end is with Dany on the Throne and Jon King in the North. We’ll see…

    - I think the writers kept the red women alive for a reason. A possible alliance with Cercei perhaps?

    - Liam Cunningham is one hell of an actor. Real rawness and intensity to his performance. Up there with Brendan Gleeson as one of our best actors. Delighted that GoT has given him the platform to showcase his talents to such a wide audience.

Targaryens aren't immune to fire. Daeny survived the original burning due to some kind of magic associated with the dragons but she's not supposed to be immune to any fire, much less every member of the Targaryen family. There was uproar about her surviving the blaze in this season.

only by those who hadnt paid attention. In the first episode she appeared inshe was shown getting into a bath. Before she got in she warned that the water was far too hot. the heat didnt bother her. It is something innate in her.

Jon got burnt killing off the white walker when defending Lord Commander Mormont in the 1st (or 2nd) series, Viserys got melted by Drogo with the gold... How many more times does this have to be put to bed???

All this talk about "teleporting" and travelling time is painful. Maybe they should make a few extra episodes devoted entirely to showing the characters travelling around and also showing every death that occurs. Who needs an imagination when you can have everything spelled out for you.

I don't see her aligning with Cercei. I reckon she'll ultimately find her way to Dany and get her to face up to the threat in the north. Of course, she also has to bump into Arya along the way. Hopefully that'll be more than just quick "How are ya, see I told you we'd meet again. K bye now." as they cross paths to/from Winterfell.

That I do remember but that does not entirely mean she is immune to being burned to death in most circumstances. Her brother wasn't immune to the crown he was given.

They should add a load of deleted scenes to future DVDs, boring filler of characters looking bored on a boat/horse etc and lets see everyone moan about how crap those scenes are and how they shouldn't have bothered putting them on the DVD.

    .

Given the targaryen history with dragons it is probably genetic. Like most (all?) genetic traits it is not passed on to every member of the family.

Maybe there are special Targaryens (or just people?) who have an affinity with dragons, and others don't. Maybe the special dragon people are immune?

To be fair, there has been a massive change in pace in the show this season and the 'fast travel' shenanigans are a clear example of that.

I'd say that as long a Dany has her dragons (or dragon eggs) that will protect her from heat and fire. She has a bond with the dragons which is protecting her..imho.

I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but I liked the karmic way Tommen met his end given what his parents did to Bran.

Loved it. Cersei is bad ass, slowly the women are coming to the fore. My only quibble is varys on the ship with Dany, they've never met nor was he mentioned to her since she arrived back from vaes dothrak.

I was sure that they met... Did he not introduce Tyrion to her?

No Tyrion met Dany in the fighting pit with Jorah remember?

And Varys only turned up after Dany flew off on Drogon - he was gone before she came back

Yes you're right... that meeting would have been a nice scene.

So glad the high sparrow storyline is over. Was getting really sick of all that.

But are we sure he's dead haven't seen his dead body 😜

I'd love the writers to add a few deleted scenes in this season's box set. Varys sitting in a boat for 20 minutes doing nothing. Littlefinger in a carriage doing nothing for half an hour.

And then end it with a "Happy now?" message.
