No many acts have been influenced by Joy Division and New Order - legends and no mistake :)

Fatboy Slim has a handy number just playing a big tape machine and waving his arms a bit...

I know I always slag off Peter Hook but he was a huge part of Joy Division and New Order and it's a shame he has fallen out with the others.

I saw his new band play live once, they sound great and he also does a fine version of Love Will Tear Us Apart.

Background and lasers remind me of Pink Floyd...

    R A M M S T E I N

Still hands down, the best live act I've ever seen - nobody comes close.

    What?

    Really?

Have to look into that! Where might one start?

(Yes, I have big gaps in my good band knowledge. Sometimes.)

Reminds me of a slightly biblical film score somehow...

I've just realised a good place to start would be today's Glasto.

It's been a busy day. Did some jamming earlier. Need to practice.

If I'm standing freezing tired and hungover in a field, I'd be hoping Philip Glass might pick the tempo up just a little bit.

    This is rather good.
Who would have thought Phillip Glass music at Glasto?

Better than some of the modern pop/talk/shout music of recent years.

It's more of an early evening piece I'd agree Skid....

That's where the flask of hot whikey comes in to play....;)

We don't see enough Orchestral music on Television.

RTE have the Concert Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra, and you rarely see either of them on RTE Television.

I might be a bit institutionalised into the black garb but the white is just making me think of a waiters uniform...

Totally agree Skid, there is no reason they couldn't televise some of the great concerts played there..

The market is there and it would be as cheap as chips to cover....

Yeah you are right Skid. As I've got older I enjoy more classical music but even in that genre Glass is divisive. Minimalist modern is a niche and fine in small doses but ..... LETS ROCK
