Zed Zed Top look a bit out of place on that stage. Missing some backing singers or lighting or something.

I have a mental image of ZZ Top in their 'Eliminator' car, stuck in gridlock traffic getting to the site :)

I think that live music outdoors should be partaken only when the sun is back below the yardarm. That said it was getting towards evening by mid-set! Great stuff. Was intrigued by the bass keyboard, Dusty had an accident rather than just being to old to pluck.

Gents is this the place to come if you're depressed watching glasto on the couch?

    Depressed by Glastonbury? :)

This is just an online music based drinking club for the middle-aged I think!

    Any Muse fans on here?

They do put on a hell of a live show.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,059 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Nope! Muse are the Iron Maiden of "alt rock", they deploy bombastic classical elements like ICBMs :p A bit sound and fury signifying nothing for me,

Lucky to have the direct feed here in the house with all the stage feeds and Muse have just gone up in my estimation here with this sound.......

Unreal guitar playing and the base coming through via my soundbar is the greatest thing I've ever seen and heard on my TV.

Treat yourself to a motorised sat dish and the feeds are on a different level that a tv company could never put out.

    Full and True HD.

Astonishing group - absolutely blown away by them.

Gig just finished now as I type this.

    Wow

The slide guitar track with the whistling intro was outstanding near the end. Sorry I didn't have the track names on screen.

The light show at the end after the lead singer was at the piano. No words. Unreal.

Best gig I've ever witnessed on TV.

I have this recorded without any idents or bull**** from TV channels if anyone ever wants it. It's a monster file but everything is way above the regular tripe we're lead to believe is the norm that the TV channels output.

Some lad stood there with a massive racket all night lmao!!!

    GLASTO!!!!!

Well, to be honest, that was one of the best sets I have seen from any band in a long long time. I'm not a Muse fan. I know nothing about their music but that was something very special.

That's "Knights of Cydonia" - the intro is lifted wholesale from Morricone's "Once upon a time in the West".

I used to think of Muse as a poor man's Radiohead until I saw them headline Glasto the first time (10 years ago?) when they were like Queen crossed with Pink Floyd. They do put on an amazing show, but I still wouldn't listen to one of their albums.
