    Interesting. I have used a few different price checker websites for Amazon and Amazon.co.uk isn't displaying any information across all the different price checking websites.

    Probably killed the API feed for a few days until things settle.

    I have a sterling endownment policy that I cashed in 2 weeks ago. If I wouldve left it until today (it matures soon) I wouldve lost out on the guts of €500, so happy with that! (You may need to travel back in time to avail of this bargain :D)

    Yep. Can change to any currency free of charge using the latest live exchange rates.

    Or you can just top it up in euro, pay in sterling and it uses the latest exchange rate (weekdays only... weekend exchange rates tend to be a bit worse for some reason).

    I've Revolut installed, how do I get benefit from that? Do I buy amazon Gift vouchers after topping up Revolut with GBP using my irish Visa card?

    probably not. It depends what you're looking for.

    a lot of stuff is so much cheaper in the south that sterling would have to drop much more before you'd save by heading north.

    If you are using Revolut you could just keep the cash with them till you need a purchase in Sterling. You top up in Euros, buy sterling and use the Sterling balance by default on any purchases.

    Assuming of course that Revolut don't suddenly go out of business (not that there's any signs of that).

    Correct, if you want to lock in current rates. You could also leave the cash on the card in Euro and it will just when you please an order. Note for amazon they only charge the card on dispatch of the order.

    Would the Revolut card not use the Mastercard exchange rates for international card payments?

    Edit: Ahh, you transfer Euro to GBP and then make the payment in GBP?

    What? It was 0.77 this morning when our rates came in from An Post. It's at 0.82 now.

    Nope, haven't even started the actual building work. Apparently they are being sued by one of the Major tenants, as they were supposed to make provisions for additional parking (i.e. first build multi storey car park), before destroying half of the car park spaces.

    In additional some of the proposed new tenants are also supposed to have changed their mind, so likely that the Bank put a halt on the fundings.

    If you start doing shopping based on comparing rates from minute to minute you'll end up in the crazy house.

    Bought a Huawei Mediapad M2 10.1 earlier today from pcworld.co.uk, cost me €285, same model in PCWorld in Jervis is €359.

    Amazon's rate this evening is £1 = € 1.28978. Don't know if that is less than yesterday.

    at least 10 different threads have you commenting about how the sterling drop isn't really a big deal. Clearly it is for a lot of people. Something that was more expensive yesterday is cheaper today. Get over it already.

    Not from the site, from An Post for a Post Office. It came through our computer systems from head office.

    I update the rates every morning and it hasn't been anywhere near .78 for a long time. It's been floating about .74/.73 for the last while, going by the rates we get.

    Over the last few days I've been keeping an eye on a product, hoping that currency changes will net me a bargain. This evening I've noticed that the price of postage on said product (posted from the UK), has increased from £9.70 to £11-something. Base price of the product remains at $40-odd euro and I last checked the prices this morning. There's only one option on postage for the item, and it can't be sent for free.

    Just something to keep an eye on for all you Brexit bargain hunters.

    So the financial markets are totally wrong as are the currency traders as are all the REAL TIME charts and you are right?


    What you probably have are the rip off small consumer rates that are about 6-8% off market rates.

    I'd never ever ever buy currency from the post office - their rates are nearly as bad as the airport counters.
