You know when you have a few bars of a tune heard long ago going around in your head for thirty years and can't place it?

Turns out it was Party Fears Two.

I have another one though, can't figure out if it was A Flock Of Seagulls or Tubeway Army or someone else... :o

'New Rose' by The Damned - still awesome :)

The first ever 'punk' release by a British band.

    Bombskare were very good...well deserved.

Pleased for them, good to see the 'mentors' giving praise and criticism in the final, rather than sticking to a "you're all great, really" narrative.

I did see a Dublin band Interskalactic a while back, who were quite similar to Bombskare. Very good live band, apparently they have been on The Late Late Show before.

Looking forward to a weekend of great music by some of the world's best artists.

But enough about the RTE Irish Country Music Awards, Glastonbury looks OK too.

ZZ Top, ELO(ish), Squeeze and Madness are the ones I'm looking forward to most as I'm ancient and refuse to listen to anything that wasn't released on Vinyl. :D

I think that's surely the most reasonable approach.

Did I hear - i swear to jesus - did I actually hear Adele and Coldplay are the headline acts?

Is this wilful sabotage? What's the point of giving the main stage to people who's abosulte best function, and even this is a massive leap, is background music in, say, a Spar shop?

When I went to 'Glasto' in 2000, I remember seeing a band called Muse midway down the bill on the other stage before Jack L. So small was the crowd, that you could walk right up to the front barrier.

They had so much promise...ah well, such is the nature of the music business. :)

It'll be far from "Glasto" I'd say you'll be WM on Saturday at 5pm! ;):D

Just watched the final part of Uks Best Part Time Band, happy that the best act won, though they did get the luck of the Kim Carnes it has to be said. Bombskare deserve to be heard on a record.

    "Rock and Roll and Brew?"

I've been singing "Rock and Roll and Roo" for years.

    Ah well.

Meat gets taken for granted a lot.

Anyone who doesn't own at least one copy of Bat out of Hell ... don't wait until he's not here to enjoy the royalties :(

If this song wasn't used to accompany In Vision Pages from Ceefax, it certainly sounds like it did.
