When we dismiss the hosts on Sunday we could meet England in the quarters!

My highlight was Seamus Coleman taking an entire minute to take a throw in extra time.

Absolutely delighted for the boys. My hopes were fading fast and then when Wes missed that sitter. I really felt an all encompassing doom fill my soul.

Then almost instantly a ball was flying through the air and I knew, just knew, that Robbie Brady was going to get on the end of it....

    GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAALLLLL!!!!

Whatever happens on Sunday the ectasy of that one moment will live for a long time. Thank you boys in green.

Actually better than yokes. Even on drugs I never hugged a sweaty drunken mess from Donegal, but I did today.

Stuck in the UK, made better for the fact I watched it again on ITV+1 again, even knowing it was coming I was still disgusted by Hoolahan's miss.

I'd say Robbie Brady's feet won't touch the ground for years.

What a time to be alive.

Ok so Italy now have to play Spain, and then Germany if they win that.

Whereas if they had been beaten by 2-0 or more by Ireland, they'd have been playing Hungary and then the winner of Northern Ireland and Wales.

And they rested their best players. And they were a shadow of what beat the lard out of Belgium.

    I hope that's just a conspiracy theory...

It's both beautiful and terrifying. Also well done Ireland.

Just saw a post on facebook that showed a picture of Bill O'Herlihy with the caption "a certain someone would've been proud tonight."

Right in the feels, he'd have been in his element this evening.

    AH FOR FCUK SAKE!

My sister's 40th is on Sunday afternoon. I think it may need to be postponed...

It's been moved to 4pm. Crisis averted. Unless it has extra time...

Thanks for the words of support lads

You always save the day Cage. So often in fact, you would think it is scripted.

The gifs of Robbies goal and the link 'turnikett1' put up there in post 1217 will keep me going for the next few days anyways!

If Ireland beat Italy 6-0 tonight they would still be playing Spain.

Arah, I'm thrilled for them all - players, management, fans. It's great to be still in it. Though the lads on RTE almost seemed disappointed they won.

Oh, good. That makes me feel better. Is it because they beat Belgium that goal difference doesn't matter?

I think all concerned in the studio are dismayed that we're back in Jack Charlton mode but they had the good sense to let all that slide after the game.
Brady now slots in beside Whelan, Houghton, O'Leary, Robbie Keane in Japan and no one can take that away.

    Just to repeat:

    Brady!! GAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHALLLLLLL!!!!

Hopefully the lads can enjoy themselves and unwind tonight and wake up tomorrow ready to get stuck in to preparation for the France game asap. They had a cracking game earlier, but France will be twice the team those Italian subs were.

So easy to start dreaming now that we're in the last 16... :o come on you boys!
