    It does, certainly. But it also stinks of desperation and reverting to a well-worn formula that yielded some success when he was in his pomp. Those days have been gone for years and management didn't put in place a plan to build after some relative success. The wins on the way to qualification were a false dawn and despite playing a top team here, we still aren't playing any differently. Or our mentality hasn't changed much.

    I'd rather try and minimise the goal difference here, we haven't a hope in hell of winning against Italy.

    Is 4 points enough to get us through as a 3rd place. If Italy turn up with their traditional attitude, they will do the bare minimum to qualify although that still doesn't fill me with a lot of hope.

    Goal difference will ride us even if we win against Italy I'd imagine. Hence why we sold have kept long on, have two options up the front and we could have nabbed a goal...
