Have been looking at the Lenovo Thinkpad p50, also looked at the xps 15.(wireless problems?)

I also looked at the proteus on pc specialist. Budget is not a problem.

Mainly being used for high end vmware testing, thoughts? Cant decide...

    Thanks

I have the XPS 15, though only with 16gb of RAM at the minute. The memory slots are available anyway to upgrade to 32gb if I feel I need it down the line. When I purchased my machine the 32gb only came with the 1tb SSD which is overkill in my case, much cheaper to upgrade these components down the line if needed I reckon.

I can't say a huge amount about your particular use case but in general it is a lovely machine. The 4k screen allowing for four desktop sized windows (in pixel terms) on one screen is great if your eyesight is up to it and the portability is great. The fans can spin up a fair bit under heavy load but nothing too frightening.

As for the wireless issues, I haven't had any. I know there were complaints about bluetooth connections (wireless mouse, headphones etc.) causing wireless speeds to crash out but to the best of my knowledge software/firmware updates have solved this.

The xps15 has to be one of the best laptops for sale at the moment. The fact that its readily user upgradeable is great too. I've heard some complaints about the performance of the 4k screen though.
