Maybe this is a silly question but why is a young academic lady such as yourself carrying a bit of rebar with them ?
Neither of my sister's can change a tyre and one of them even gets myself or the father to fill her car with petrol in case she uses the wrong pump !
ah here ye are worse for doing it for them.

Changing a tyre should be part of the normal driving test. If ya can't do it you can't get a licence.

Came across this at about 5.15pm this evening on a major busy road (N4). The mind boggles...

Apparently that guy brings cattle to Kildare chilling twice a week and brings a load of straw back every time.

Because Dad's van is a treasure trove of mysterious bits and pieces. The rebar has (more than likely) been thrown about the place doing odd jobs since our slatted shed was built 15 years ago!
My aunt actually put petrol instead of diesel in her car during the week, rang me in a massive panic thinking she'd be stranded in Cavan (the horror!)
I don't know how she did it as she has the car a couple of years but anyway, she was fully sure she had frigged the whole car up. Sure all she had to do was fill it up to the top with diesel and dilute it out but this never occurred to her (or the lad at the petrol station?!) at all. She won't forget what to put in it for the near future anyway ;)

Much more serious to put diesel in a petrol car

Yes indeedy, she was very relieved when I said that to her. She knew one was worse than the other but didn't know which way round.

I suppose in this day and age it's handier to call out a mobile tyre repair anyhow

Herself was badly caught a few years ago. I was after showing her how to change a tire as i was going to be away for a few days. I was after driving 2 miles up the road when I got a call to come back, she had a flat tire.

There was some colourful language used on the way back:o.

So I showed the eldest lad what to do as well so between the two of them they should manage. Hopefully.

Most insurance policies have the breakdown assist now. so if you've no tyre wrench, jack, have the good clothes on, haven't the competency or just couldn't be bothered, it's another option!

I asked the question earlier , how would our factories both milk and meat like us the farmers to employ the staff to test our milk content and our meat grade and then invoice them to pay us . We are already paying for this service but have no control .
What other business would let the buyer set the price .We need to have some control and who is going to stand up and do it .
Isn't it simple business that we show what we have to sell , set a price , agreed and get paid . Where do our farm political leaders stand or are there fingers in the pie ,

Are ya not watching the match KC?

Thought I'd get a load of slurry out at half time and missed the goal. Was it a good goal or a mistake by us?

Is it just me, or does that seem rather a paltry amount for driving a horse and coach through our vaulted traceability rules?

Just after reading this. The Netherlands will have the EU presidency this year.

It should be the EU fineing them not the irish government.
