There's a lot of lord of the rings lookalikes playing in the euros lol. Yer man who scored For Iceland must have elf blood in him lol

In 2020 a tier 4 football nation (faroe islands, Latvia, San Marino ETC) will qualify for the finals through the new uefa league starting in sep 2018. More little country's playing in major tournaments

Shut up and show him some respect. The man just scored a 'career goal' to equalise with a major nation in the European Cup (have Iceland even ever been to one, or a World Cup?). He's a hero to his nation whether they win, lose or draw, has achieved a lot more than you or I likely will in the near future just todfy along, and he's a real man by the name of...

    Birkir Bjarnason!?

F*** it you're right, he really must be an elf.

every players surname of the Iceland team ends in son including the subs...only odd one out is the manager who is Lars Lagerback, a surname I kinda like...

All Icelandic names end with -son for men, and -dottir for women.

    It's (father's)-son or -dottir.

    got this off wikipedia

'Rather than using family names, as is the usual custom in most western nations, Icelanders carry patronymic/matronymic surnames, patronyms being far more commonly practiced. Patronymic last names are based on the first name of the father, while matronymic names are based on the first name of the mother. These follow the person's given name, e.g. Elísabet Jónsdóttir ("Elísabet, Jón's daughter" (Jón, being the father)) or Ólafur Katrínarson ("Ólafur, Katrín's son" (Katrín being the mother)).[164] Consequently, Icelanders refer to one another by their given name, and the Icelandic telephone directory is listed alphabetically by first name rather than by surname.[165] All new names must be decided upon by the Icelandic Naming Committee.'

Russians love mother Russia so much that they have made a two pronged effort to go home as soon as possible.

Watching them here, they just look terrible. They even made England look good.

I can see this ending with a few more goals for the Slovaks

The Russians are slowly coming back into it....but they look to be leaving big gaps at the back. They are ripe for a counter.
