What do you do when you can't sell for €1,600? Put it up to €2,150.

^ those pictures are just amazing.

I'm no photographer but they do look pretty good in terms of being well shot.
I'd be more interested in photos that aim to show the condition of the car rather than being artistic.
An example - the taillight shot would be of more interest to me if it gave a view down the side of car instead of being like a shot out of a car brochure.

Nice car but overwheeled in my opinion, ruins the car's profile

Pictures will rarely tell you the true condition of a car - you need to see it in the flesh.

What those pictures tell me is that its being sold by someone who cares enough for it to have those photos taken, if they were taken by himself then he is obviously someone smart enough to be able to do it right. People like that will replace things that need replacing, and not gaffer tape it together thinking "Be grand.."

When I see fellas who cant even wait for proper light to take a picture with their cheap phone, I know they wont bother with an oil change when due either.

I'd agree with all that to be fair :)

I reckon that CL500 had a haircut. Bet there's no service history.

I'd also be worried about the LPG, if you can't afford to run a V8 what has been skimped on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59,579 ✭✭✭✭unkel

Can't agree with that. If you do say 20k miles per year,
And plan to hold onto the car for a fee years, installing LPG makes a lit of sense

Love that car. If it had 5 seats / belts,id have bought it already

LPG kits for V8's aren't cheap. I'd say it was kept as a daily though, and thus has lost ~30,000 miles along the way

The CL500 ad has nice photos imo and give the ad a good wow factor. My biggest criticism is that they should cover the basics first, like four photos from each corner of the car and then one interior front and one interior rear at least and then add some nice detail and distance shots if you want. I wouldn't be concerned about the LPG at all, plenty of cars like this have such systems. Loads of 10+ year old LS430s, S500s etc. with LPG. I would be asking questions though on why a car with only 70k miles has such a system as that doesn't seem like sufficient mileage to make serious savings.

2006 Chrysler 300c diesel NCT to May and asking €3,950 with just over 100k miles. I don't know much about these but seems like a possible alternative to the usual suspects of 3 litre diesel Mercs and BMWs. They have a V6 Merc diesel and 5 speed auto I believe. Looks like ok spec too with auto xenons, memory heated seats, auto wipers and some other nice stuff. They have good road presence though imo, one drove past me the other day and they definitely stand out.

Look good from the outside, can barely see out from the inside.

Also that diesel dies after about 2.5k. Wouldn't mind a rip in a Hemi though.

Yeah I was thinking it the doorline looked very high giving small windows. Looks dark enough inside too.
*Edit* Engine might be good for a remap though?

Anyone here owned a 300c? I'm not a huge fan of them but you can't argue with that sort of value when compared to the e-class of same age/mileage.

I'd be afraid of looking like a drug dealer in it...

Hey it's a diesel. Keep it between 2k and 2.5k at all times and she'll go like a rocket :p

These have the most gawd awful interior, all cheap plastic and poor finish. It's based on the 0ld W211 E class and they had a 4 speed outbox. There's a reason that they're cheaper than similar Mercs. I have the W140 CL 500 and although a thirsty car, its considerably more frugal than a 3.5 Jag XJ8. You lose a certain amount of power with LPG and the reason for a big V8 is power.

Ran a quick check as I've a customer looking for something like this:

    Please Note:
This vehicle was previously designated as SCRAPPED VEHICLE DESTROYED in, January 2008 .

Also showing as an import - TNZ7317 which is strange with a low Irish reg number. Possibly exported to NI, or imported and paid for a reg?

With a correctly matched LPG kit the power will be identical. I own a V8 LPG and the 0-100mph is the same on petrol & LPG on the Torque App (on my private runway ;))

Interesting, I'm basing my knowledge of LPG on years ago. I stand corrected.

to be fair, for a car that isn't supposed to exist anymore, those photos are impressive.

Surely it must be illegal for it to be on the road if it has been classed as scrapped?

its also possible that they cloned a plate, and it just happened to be the exact plate not to clone.

I wonder if the VIN has been swapped also.
