The worldwide audience must be going through a state of mass confusion at the moment.

A team called Ireland playing, wearing green, yet all the fans have English flags and they played the English national anthem before the game!!

The flag is the Ulster banner.

Well, you know, I know, but most of Europe watching on TV would find it very hard to discern a difference between the 2, as both sets of fans like to write on them in a similar fashion.

Disappointing for Northern Ireland. Should have gone a bit more forward and positive in the first half. Can't see them getting any result from the other two games in the group.

Yeah I was convinced he got a good touch to the ball when I seen it first.

For what? The free kick that led to the goal?

I'm just seeing the same ads over and over on TV3.

Thomas Muller looks like a moany bäštârd.

Like if you sat in his favourite chair in the Bayern Munich canteen, he'd be going on and on, moaning about it for weeks.

    Commentary tonight is awful,

It's either news reader on TV3 or Robot Wars on BBC

I'm surprised at how shaky the Germans are looking at the back. Ukraine are quick on the counter and it's only a matter of time if the Germans keep playing like this.

If this is how their defence is these days the Polish team will tear into them, they look a lot less organised than Norn Iron did today.

Is it me or are Germany very sloppy tonight?

Ukraine playing decent enough football they just don't have the quality needed up front. Germany should be 2-3 up, finishing let them down

Neuer lucky there, that lad loves coming off his line!

BBC News just announced an N Ireland fan has died in Nice. Seems to have been a tragic accident unrelated to any of the trouble.

    RIP.

In fairness to Danny Murphy he did, but he's one of the better ones. Not many others call it without the replays.

From a fall apparently. Terrible tragedy.

Thoughts are with his friends and family.

    RIP

More disgraceful scenes from France as fans from different nations having way too much craic together!

    Big day today.

Luckily I work for myself so gonna listen to 1st half on radio and have my shop shut for 5.45 and then watch the rest of game at the Stags Head\Dame tavern junction. There's a huge outdoor screen there.
    Anyone else working?

Yes, but to most untrained eyes, the N Ireland flag looks very much like the English flag, bar the red hand of ulster in the middle, and it may be the british anthem, but of all the British nations, its only England that uses it, which may lead to the confusion.
