Tick the liberal box and I share your view.

We have to wake up and smell the coffee people.

Militant violent Islamic fundamentalism globally whether in organized political groups or movements or in the form of crazed lone shooters inspired by its barbarian ideology is at war with moderate Islam in the Middle East, at war with Hinduism, at war with Buddhism, at war with Christianity, at war with democracy and liberal secular values and any other ideology that it considers haram.

These savages are going to have to be wiped out.

You can blame Jimmy Carter for not being tough enough with the Ayatollahs or Reagan for arming the mujihaddin fighting the Soviets or Clinton for not killing Osama when he had the chance or Bush for overthrowing Saddam or Obama for cutting and running from Iraq or any other supposed "cause" of the violence and you would be dead wrong.

The root of this attack and all the others before it is militant Islamic extremism.

To defeat the enemy we must name it.

And stop buying oil from the country funding it.

Just an opinion on this. May be wrong. When we had weekly asymmetrical warfare in Northern Ireland during the ''Troubles'' one just never knew what was the next horror we would hear of on the morning news, plus we stopped driving ''up north'' out of fear of bombs. This guerrilla terrorism is not representative of Islam just as the terrorists in the North were not representative of their respective religions. These terrorists are militant extremists enthralled by regressive Wahhabism and hatred.

This idea of terrorism not being a part of Islam & instead it being extremism has been touted about for quite a while now & yet it never holds water.

For if it were true that religious extremism was the problem & not the religion itself, then how does one who holds this view explain extremism in Jainism? This is an ideology that preaches utter non violence, yet there are those in the religion itself that are seen as extremists. These extreme Jains will not hurt a fly, will watch where they are walking so as to not walk on an insect & will cover their mouths with a thin cloth when drinking water so as to not accidentally swallow a fly.

Whatever this crazys ideology was, well done to the NRA for making sure firearms continue to be easily available to the populace at large regardless of their grudges, mental state etc. Eternally faithful to the second amendment. Well done lads.

The NRA share the blame because firearms are available to individuals on FBI watch lists.

Omar Mateen would not have been able to amass an arsenal and perpetrate this massacre without America's insane gun laws.

    BUT

Do NOT confuse the primary cause of this attack.

    MILITANT VIOLENT ISLAMIC EXTREMISM.

If Halawa was back in this country he would probably walk right into the George and blow himself up.

Meanwhile on the Radio 1 news at one today we had Charlie Flanagan and Richard Crowley outdoing each other with their virtue signalling concern for the welfare of Halawa the terrorist

RTE and our DoFA are chicken shïts

I honestly think people are getting thicker. Their natural survival instincts and threat recognition have been dulled and sated by liberal democracy, so much so they think its eternal, default state humanity, that there are no barbarians at the gates, and there never were, Pax Americana will last forever.

Could also just be a simple hate crime if anyone listed to his dad, the Islam bandwagons seems to be screaming ahead though exactly as the authorities want it to. NRA and ISIS coudn't hope for a better outcome.

This is obviously an Islamic terrorist attack.
It happened during Ramadan, it happened close to the 11th of the month (3/11 in Madrid, 7/11 in London and of course 9/11 in New York) the attacker was Omar Mateen, an Afghan-American national radicalized by Islamic extremism who was being watched for years by the FBI, who used an assault rifle...
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that this was religiously motivated when the victims were LGBT in a gay nightclub in Florida, probably the most gay friendly state in the U.S. If any group of people would be a target for an Islamic extremist this would be it.

    7/11 in London?

I do agree with you and others who are opposing my view to some extent. But one could also say that the hawks in the US empire who have championed the ''war on terror'' that has devastated entire countries, slaughtered millions and incubated extremists are also religiously driven in that Fundamentalist Christianity is big among these types. So one could also suggest that terrorism is part of a certain Christian ideology.

Sooner we accept that we need to go Nuclear the better.

Unfortunately, 5 of the top 10 companies in the world in terms of revenue are Oil companies. They definitely do not want the world going nuclear.

Omar Mateen worked for a security company that provided security for US governmental buildings.
He was on a terrorist watchlist, so how could he be allowed to work for a security company.
Also why are people on terrorist watchlists not precluded from buying a firearm?
They really need to get their act together in the US.

Well he was activley involved in rallies and on stage during Muslim Brotherhood rallies in Egypt, then played the innocent card.
The Halawas just spread hate, and it is no loss to this country if Egypt wants to keep one of the terrorist supporting family members in jail.

I'm not defending the Muslim brotherhood or the Halawas but MB were democratically elected in Egypt and then taken down by a military Coup who are now running the country and regularly imprisoning, torturing and killing civilian protesters . This is also what happened in Algeria in the 90s and they are still running the country. This situation only creates more support for MB and I almost understand why people would support them. For many the military are the terrorists. I can certainly understand why people would be protesting in Egypt. Again I'm not defending Ibraham. I don't know his intentions. Also I don't think this is the time or place or this argument. Just pointing out that the situation isn't a simple black and white one.

Well restricting firearms didn't work out so well in Paris, Brussels & San Bernardino. These people are going to get their hands on weapons regardless.

There is no part of Christianity that condones harming other people. Your comment is disgusting and should be retracted.

A Muslim spokesperson in Ireland has requested that our media not use the word ''Islamic'' when reporting this crime. Disgraceful behaviour and I'm anticipating RTE somehow spinning this to make Muslims the victims of this horrendous slaughter.

Those liberals always supported the replacement of European millenarian culture and native population by a multicultural and multiethnic population. Rome did fall when the population of germanic barbarians (more prolific) started to migrated slowly and the Greek and Roman religion replaced by a religion from middle east originated in Persia. Obviously when the christians become the majority it started a persecution against the minority. It could also happen someday on western countries.

I'm shocked that the usual Islamic terrorism apologists aren't contributing heavily to this thread yet. Probably racking their brains figuring out where to point the figure that doesn't involve Islam.

    Those poor people.

The perpetrators and their ilk are savages and deserve to be put down by any means possible.

Has Barack called it for it what is yet or has he used the usual cowardly weasel words to describe the slaughter?

The sooner he leaves that office the safer the world becomes

Because Islam is the Religion of Peace™ comrade, by its very nature no one can be a true muslim if they do anything that is bad PR, once they do, they are no longer to named muslims or their deeds done in the name of Islam.

That is how this work, all these Islamic terror attacks, explicitly declared, are actually not the continuation of a thousand plus years of war, violence and conquest against the West, its just random attacks that happened for no reason or because the attacker had experienced Islamophobia.

The army had a coup as the Muslim Brotherhood were encouraging attacks on Egyptian Christians, churches were being burned down, an estimated 800 Christians killed.
Egyptians and the world can be thankful they had a strong army to stop the route the country was going down under the Muslim Brotherhood. It was an absolute disaster and is it any wonder the army declared the democratically elected government as being terrorists?
