Are the riots going to be shown anywhere live?

Surely there's a live streamer doing his thing... it's an awful thing to say but the aftermath would be better viewing than the match

Didn't take long, by the looks of it, they are already smashing 7 shades of sh1te out of each other in the stadium

England won't get anywhere with Sterling and Lalanna in the team. Horrendous players. Vardy, Sturridge and barkley on the bench.

Souness is right the Russian wall was very badly positioned.

Why are English pundits so dry and up themselves?

    It's awful stuff.

    "We done everything right"

    "Kept Russia down to nothing"

Are they banned from having a go at the team or something? People give out about Dunphy but ffs, I'd take him over these placid beige **** any day.

I can already see signs of whats to come - the rioting in Marseille is caused by Russian thugs (probably backed by Putin) and the English fans are innocent victims.Watch the media in the coming days. Take the 2018 World Cup from Russia !!

UEFA said that the violence in the streets is none of their business. Only if it's inside the stadium perimeter...looks like they'll have to get their hands dirty now.

You can tell that Peter Crouch is straining to speak his mind but is afraid to.

Silly bint now calling Russia's goal a 'sucker punch'

The team played better than Russia tonight, no doubt about it

But anyone watching this shitshow of an analyses won't pity them for it. English fans and talking heads need to get a grip on themselves

The thuggery was probably not backed by Putin. Much of it comes from Russian neo Nazi elements...evidently history not being their strong point. Then again, given the choice between being shot by the Germans or shot by your own for not being part of the meat grinder in Stalingrad...maybe many of them genuinely wished Germany won.

But the bribery and threats used to get the WC to Russia does bear his fingerprints. The holiday pics with Chuck Blazer etc. So agree the WC should be taken off them.

English sports punditry has always been closer to propaganda than analysis. Pundits and commentators have to refer to the English team as 'we', even when those broadcasters are Scottish or Welsh or Irish. England are always the best, always contenders for the tournament. Scottish, Welsh and NI sports people (and others) are always British on a good news day, but are Scottish, Welsh or Irish on a bad news day. All in all, they're a pain in the hole.

That's such a load of crap tbh. They always refer to Andy Murray etc etc as Scottish etc . You must be listening to the wrong channel. The only people I hear talking about this are Irish people tbh.

Yeah, it's so much different to the unbiased, level headed pundits on RTE.

One thing that confused me the other night.

There was an England flag in a bar in Marseille, with Exeter City across the middle, but with an Ulster red hand crest on one corner.

Any ideas what the connection might be?

I fear for our Northern cousins tomorrow. No doubt they will be happy to be there but, jesus, there is some hiding coming for them!

A few English clubs have connections with Northern Ireland. Others just like the flag. The red hand flag looks pretty good too so maybe that's it.

You do know French, Spanish etc. do the exact same? They are a country of 60 million people, of course they think they should win it.

I always thought those French riot cops were the toughest of the tough, they certainly know to get stuck in against leftist demonstrators but for some reason seem to show little interest in dealing with the riots in Marseille.

    Quite the opposite.
Speaking to the Press Association, Supt Delmar said: "The Irish fans - they're very, very popular. We can see it here with them. They're very popular throughout Europe. Over here they've been very, very well received.

"They're very, very well behaved. They're mingling with fans from other countries, and they're getting on fine, so it certainly makes our work very, very easy over here."

He said he had just been to the fan zone at the Eiffel Tower where the Irish were beginning to arrive.

"They're soaking up the atmosphere, they're mingling with other fans, they're enjoying themselves and they're not causing any problems whatsoever," he said.
