Bad!! Not a patch on the original!! Maybe it was the hype - I was expecting a classic but I found it quite repetitive and REALLY REALLY CHEESY!!!! I know nobodys gonna agree with me...

How about an extra option for the people who want to reserve judgement until after "Revolutions"?

One of the best films in years, well worth the wait. Can't wait for the third one though.

In my honest opinion it was nothing like the first one , they focused on the action to much and neglected the storyline big time ,

And omg what was the ****ing big zion orgy thing that was just pethetic , sadly the film was more appealing to those who want nothing more than action but as a good film it was nothing like the first ,

And 2 the moron who think that whoever thought it was bad did not understand it ?

I mean what is there 2 understand the only bit of remote complexity in the whole film is were he meats the archetecht at the end and even at that it is simplistic to understand ,

Not to mention there is about 30 flaws in the film , 9 of which I spotted last night ,

Dont get me wrong it was a good film and worth the time to go to see it but being a big matrix fan maybe I expected to much from it ,

Sadly in my opinion it was a bad sequel and as my mate said there perhaps should never have been a sequel made ?

There should have been more options in the poll. Amazing and excellent spring to mind!

I think allot of people found this film more difficult to understand than the original. The action was almost non stop, giving very little time for reflection. I want to see it again =D
The Neo VS the Mr Smith’s fight scene was absolutely...

    astonishing!

A simple positive or negative choice suffices, the replies kinda speak for themselves after that - don't they?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,717 ✭✭✭Praetorian

Almost everyone thought it was at least good. It would have been nice to see how many people thought it was excellent, on a bar chart!

I saw it on Tuesday and have my ticket for Friday again, two options was enough, you either liked it or you didn't

    I thought it was fantastic.

I loved the first movie and was not let down by this instalment at all.

I agree that it didn't have the same depth of plot as the first, but I don't think it needed as much. The first movie set the premise for the Matrix world, this movie just had fun with it.. Class.

It all depends on how you like your information break down - My preference would be an initial yay or nae poll and then a further rating within that as to how strong your feelings are.

This ain't gonna happen and the graph as it is looks faily emphatic, 17 - 2 when I last looked.

If it has additional options then that 2 would gain in credibility because the 17 would be split into several different bars.

I'll come clean, haven't actually seen it yet. Going tomorrow and I know I'm gonna like it so I voted for it being good. (just hope I will be able to get my small little head around it :) )

m8, what flaws. this sounds interesting.

    i noticed 1 flaw, spoilerish?
when neo disembarked from the nebukednezzer at the beginning when they got back to zion. he was missing the port on the back of his head, or so it looked.
    lol

having said this, how do you know there were 30 mistakes if you only noticed 9? did you read about them?

imho the film rocked. i hope you all saw the revolutions trailer.

as for the storyline, i think it was excellent, it explained stuff more indepthly than the first, and corrected our perceptions of what was going on.
reference to how the oracle could exist in the way that she did in the first without being detected and removed. parsque she's a program. all the stuff about the back doors and how smith is like a computer virus, all added to the storyline and. basically the way in which zion is part of the matrix and it is a cycle that happens over and over again. a bit like defragging but more like rebooting, all explained storylines, changed perceptions (without invalidating the first film) and added to it.

    imho

i wouldn't advise any1 watching it until they have seen the first, how they could have missed it i don't know, but still.

    I saw it last night.

I think "OH SWEET DIVINE JEEBUS INNA BUN!" is the only appropriate phrase.

Fantastic. The only bad points I can think of are that it seemed a bit short, and the credits had a damn Linkin Park "song" in the background.

I pity anyone who left just as the credits started (Half the cinema, wher I saw it in galway!) as they missed the trailer for Revolutions, which was utterly breathtaking. We're talking battlescene-in-LOTR-Fellowship-film-against-sauron epic here.

Winter will be fun. Revolutions, and The Return Of The King. I can't wait...

Also in this film it was even more painfully obvious that Keanu Reeves cant act.

Loved it. Especially the amazing slickness of the "twins" with the razors.. I thought the only fight scene that was gratuitous was the "test" before the oracle..

A highlight for me was also when Trinity ran nmap, and then SSHnuke in the Power Plant

Anyone notice the symbolism of the sweet that the Oracle offered Neo? Just like the red pill..

#MEAT#, some of us browse Boards in offices you know. A giant "I WANT TO CUM" on our screens isn't very relevant or helpful (or funny, tbh).

    Twat.

I intend seeing The Matrix: Reloaded this weekend and avoiding all spoilers until then.

Sorry about the last post but i was trying to post a spoiler but messed it up.

I saw Reloaded last night and i thought it was just fantastic. I hadnt been so looking forward to seeing a movie in a long long time and i wasnt disapointed. The conversation with the Architect was a big eye opener.

Yes I read about them and spotted a couple myself .

one thing I will say is at least it portrayed the first positive hack ever in a movie wow gone maybe are the days of those l33t flash

allbeit if sshnuke is a fictional sploit any way

nmap edited to fit on the screen
benches are fixed after fight scene
cars not recked in chase after they were
    neo missing his connection
neos connection being 2 far up his head
reflection of the camera crew in morpheous's specs these are the ones I spotted and I read about the rest which I am sure you can find somewere ,

I think it was an exceptional film but I think it was not haf as good as the first as for the storyline it was a nice element of surprise but not blissfully hard to understand

confusing = matrix = omg you have to be thick not to understand it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,621 ✭✭✭Panda

Saw it last night and I thought it was amazing film, well worth seeing it again.
I liked that they put a lot more humour in it,
especially when Neo meets the agents around the beginning of the film "Hiya fellas..." with a smirk on his face and that french dude, the merovingian on swearing in french, "It's like wiping your arse with silk..."
    classic.

the only corny things that i found in the film was
The rave in the cave, its amazing that after living underground for a hundred years + that everone is all nice and tanned.
Plus the new operator on the ship Link, every second word out of his mouth made me laugh at him not with him. He kept reminding me of the one black guy in Not another teen movie that was just there to say "DAMNNN" and "****TTT" and what ever the black stereotype says.

And as for those flaws you spoke of, its a film, films are ALWAYS flawed.
in my opinion with such an impressive visual orgy like reloaded, im suprised they didnt have a lot more.

Does anyone know if that guy Link is the same guy who is in OZ?? you know the one in the wheelchair who narrates every episode?? He looked very like him.

i dunno but he is damn familiar.

i thought he might have been the black power ranger at first.. but then thought better of it.

any flaws made in the film. ie remade bench, can be easily put down to the matrix resetting here and there. its a lot easier than programming new street cleaners :p

I watched it and thought it wasn't as good as the first, I thought that some of the fight scenes were a little drawn out and that the entire thing was a little too simple, BUT when I read another Matrix thread i realised I got alot of the film wrong and that it was incredibly complex!!! (to an average minded person such as MRGUMP). As a result im giving the film a thumbs up, however i was not impressed by the two guys (twins) that could phase in and out, thought they would be better.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

    Quite good indeed.

    Not very original though...
That car chase scene was brilliant! Very Terminator all the same, but quite cool.

It's far too pretentiously 'Deep' though.
Could have done with a bit more serious plot, rather than a load of semi-philosophising. I like it when a film is waxing-lyrical, that it does so more subtle, rather than having the main characters blub so damn much!

Pseudo-deepness aside, it was a very enjoyable film altogether, and one I certainly would see again. If only for the fight scenes, and car chase.

And the guy from Oz really made my cringe!
Total walking cliche, which ruined many of the scenes! Rather like a less annoying Jar-Jar Binks! The scene where Neo brings Trinity back to life would have been far more effective if they didn't switch to him going "HOLY ****!!!" He totally ruined it, and other parts of the film. Personally, I prefered him when he's not walking.

Also did anyone think that Agent Smith's "It's a gift" line was a little nod to LOTR?

I quite liked the twins though.
    Quite cool indeed.

Lol pld. People will pay more attention to what you write if you use proper words and sentences.

Tbh I enjoyed it. I know it had some little flaws and things, but what do you expect. It's a film. I thought it was put together very well, acting was as it needed to be (with some great performances from some, incl Laurence Fishburne). Action scenes very very nicely choreographed and some good CG. Good story to boot. What's not to like?

Can't wait to see what they do with Revolutions, and the rest of the story.

I thought the film was superb, I particularly liked the fight scenes (the first one with smith was brilliant). But my fave part was
when neo meets the architect, you think that finding the mainframe would end the war or at least help, but then hes told that humanity has been wiped out 5 times before and its going to happen again, brings home the fact that the machine dominate and the humans cant do that much about it.

The scene where morhpeus gives his speech to the whole of zion was also superb, pity about the music afterwards :p

Cant think of anything in particular I didnt like, link was a bit annoying at times, but he wasnt in that much of it, so he was easily ignored.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,947 ✭✭✭BLITZ_Molloy

Thought it was excellent. Far better than the first one. The action sequences were so fast I'd have to go back and watch it a few more times.

I felt the story and acting were a hell of alot better also; much darker rather than the pure cheese of the original.

Only problem with the movie is the soundtrack is utter ****e.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 764 ✭✭✭Terminator

Thought it was excellent despite a dodgy cgi-neo and cgi-trinity in some scenes.

    Interesting :
in the trailer for Revolutions it looks like either neo or trinity strap themselves into the docking cargo loader for a fight (similar to the scene at the end of aliens with ripley in the power loader) - can't wait to see it !!!

I didn't like at all, I would put it in the same type of vein as Fast & the Furoius, lots of action but very weak on plot. Kind of like a 2 hour long music video, great as a no-brainer, but certainly not a classic, and not a patch on the orignal.

Anyway, thats just my opinion, action without a good plot is just not my thing.

(finally) got to see it today. Number 55 for the 'good' option.

...it did take a while to get started though, and all the preaching made it drag at times, over-explaining things a bit too much. Neo never seemed to be able to grasp just what was going on (its all like.... woh).

But there was always the anticipation of a fight... and the fights were good :)

'Link' I think was thrown together after Marcus Chong (Tank) got too big for his boots... that is, he wanted more cash, he got the road (check out http://www.boycottthematrix.com/)

Definitly going to see this again some time soon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,269 ✭✭✭p.pete

Finally saw it last night - Once again something has been spoiled by hype for me. As a film its quite good and I reckon if I had seen it without hearing that it's gods gift, then I would have loved it.

As it was I was expecting loads and it just didn't deliver. It took half an hour to get started and there was big chunks of the story line that just weren't important (i.e. all that fuss about needing all the ships - that never really amounted to much).

Granted it will all be wrapped up into a neat little package with part 3, but I was left feeling I had watched only half a film. The first film was excellent all by itself, we weren't left waiting for the next film for everything to make sense - it stood up in it's own right.

I'm sure half the storyline went over my head, so I'll go and read a few posts on the film and see if my mind can be changed. Reloaded good or bad, good - but not great.

Saw it last night. I particularly liked the car chase sequence, good stuff. The fights were also very good, although I always had a sense that they were "fake" in comparison to say the fights from the first one.

Great movie, not a patch on the first.

I thought the best bit was where
Neo brought Trinity back to life by fisting her. GET IN THERE MY SON

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 144 ✭✭Spock

Neo did have the plug on the back of his head in Zion, just he also had hair so it was hard to see.
I loved it, but i will say i thought the agents had a little too much difficulty fighting Trinity and Mor, compared too the first.
I saw the add at the end and can't wait to see the oracle's protecter in a lot more scenes, he was cool

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,397 ✭✭✭✭azezil

Biggest pile of shit i've seen in years, new twist every 5mins, special effects over done, unoriginal, and way over the top.

As for confusing, what are you people llama's? it was irritatingly over simplified, they explained everything left nothing to the imagination.

Did Monica Belluccis dress become a little see through and you could see her brazilian wax??

anyway i wanted to see more of the twins in this one, trinity was great morpheus was great but the real cgi intensive fights with neo could of been anybody in a black coat with sunglases the modeling was a little poor.
does the bit were neo disables the sentinels mean that the ruined earth is just another part of the matrix were the rules can be bent???

all in all great and it left me thinking and quite confused
