Ye gods djste! I hope you wern't going to try and run KI in MAME:)...You havn't mentioned downloading the Hard drive image, which is 125mb unzipped. You'll be needin this

Is the .chd not the image needed ?
Did try to run it in MAME but ouch couldn't get full speed sirprize surprize.
Got KI in u64 to get to the first blue screen then it stops.

Do you have all the files i have ??

Theres about 10 of them each gets entered in that list then it works fine.

Yep but I've got a .chd instead of a .img also I heard from a certain chinese site that 1 of the files is differnt in the u64 zip then the mame version

the first killer instinct game never got realesed on the n64 but it did got realesed on the super nes. And the arcade version of the game is way better then the super nes.

The u64 is a single arcade game emulator designed for killer instinct
and not a n64 emulator.

Understandable mistake as I made it at 1st too.

Re my problem
I'm going to Scotland at the weekend and the g/f has just got broadband so I'll download the image file from "somewhere" and a hell of a lot of other games to run her connection into the ground.
She's going out for the day so I'll be playing online a lot more.
Also I've been practising at Street Fighter so I'm up for another challenge soon.

No problem!

Step 1
Start mIRC and hit file then options
which gives you....


Step 2
Now fill in the your details Name, Email and Nick.
Now click on the Add button which I've highlighted
which give you this....



Step 3
Now fill in the details exactly as I've done in the screenshot
and click add this should bring you back to the first screen. Now IGN should be in the drop downbox and click Connect to IRC server *Note If IGN isn't in the drop down box just scroll down to the end till you find it and click the connect button

Step 4
You should now be connected to the quakenet.ie IRC server.
Now just type....
/join #emulation.ie
and thats it!

Funny that I've got a rom called Killer Instinct Gold dosn't run great on pj64 but the rom is there.
Got it from a high quality chinese site.

I have the original game for N64 ,wasnt very good ,just somfin not quite right about it.

It was the bastard son of Killer Instinct and Killer Instinct 2. It still sold well afaik simply because everyone loved the arcades so much. I believe KI2 is an inferior game although it did add a few nice gfx effects.

anyone know of a move list? i can win a couple of bouts but then get killed by riptor or jado

could somebody please let me know where i can download the ki.img from, i cant find it anywhere and i really want to run the game using the u64 emulator.

I've got the kinst.chd and ran the game on Mame but its too slow.

If anyone knows where i can download the killer instinct .img file from i'll be greatly appreciated, ive tried searching kazaa, edonkey, direct connect for over a week now and still no luck

BizzyBone please dont request roms again thanks. In relation to your query you can get a file that will convert the mame .chd file you have to a correct image file for the u64 emulator. It is called KIPATCHV2 afaik.

If your going to convert it make sure you have large HD and lots of space and make a backup.

Do I need a separate hard-drive to make this work? I have read up on MAME and it says something about "Hard-disk needed". Or do I just download a hard-drive image? Confused!

Just download the image and unzip it, then place it a folder called ki and it should work along with the ki rom.

If I'm wrong someother smarter person will help.
