Saunas and Steamrooms

    Can anyone explain to me what Saunas and steamrooms do for

    you and are they good for you as ther are in the Gym I go to and

    I Never use them for the above reason.

    Two things... they detox the skin and clean out the pores.

    Also you litterally sweat the fat out of you.. well not quite but it has that sort of effect and its very relaxing so after a hard workout.. relax the muscles.

    You're right about it being not quite true, the only thing that is sweated out of you in a Sauna/Steam room is sweat!!!
    And as said in many previous posts, anything that you sweat out while in a Sauna will be replaced as soon as you take a drink of water!! ;)

    They're lovely! :)

    Steam rooms can have a positive effect on your breathing apparently, and saunas are good for clearing pores.

    Both are good for your health (esp skin), but not so relevant to fitness. There's plenty of papers on the web on this subject, do a google.
