The most painful thing that won't kill you

Just so you know I'm not into S&M and all that. This is a bit of genuine scientific research.

What do people think is the most painful thing to be done to them or a person which will not cause long term injury or death. Physical damage would be allowed but should be repairable.

I'm looking for really painful things, not some of those stupid jackass horse and pony stunts and tricks.

getting kicked square on in the gonads......

really is no comparison of pain to that..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 444 ✭✭s0l

aye gonads leaves the dull pain for ages after words, but off the top of my head, getting the skin between your thumb and forrfinger pierced with no anesthetic, i've been bitten there before and oh dear sweet holy crap it hurts.

Apparently a chemical burn is more or less the most painful thing you can do to yourself without dying. For a homemade lightweight version, try pouring vinegar in your eye. Let us know how you get on.

    Giving birth. Apparently.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,346 ✭✭✭✭KdjaCL

Giving birth doesnt count as women have some chemical which makes them forget the pain but remember the incident (trust me 3 kids me knows it so well)

Most painful thing is stubbing baretoes of wooden bed/furniture item or standing on a small plastic toy barefeet.
Knee of bike handlebars can make also make you cry.
Nipple twists could fall in there as really painful with no longterm damage.

its ok yellum your s & m tendancies are safe with all the viewers of this thread, for most painful see below whats really annoying at the time when you get them is those slivers you get under your nail and salt in a wound.

Most painful maybe some surgery without anasthestic that you could survive, like ripping out one of your testicles or kidney's or how about taking out a lung.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,080 ✭✭✭✭Tusky

dont think this is the MOST painfull thing ever but betcha it will make u cringe !

jumping off a bunkbed and the bottom of your foot ( lol i originally spelled it fouth !!!) landing on the 3 prongs of a plug =/ ouch ouch ouch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,524 ✭✭✭✭Gordon

Cuticles is another one. I don't want to mention any more for fear of ickifying my mind.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,471 ✭✭✭elexes

afaik it is getting somthn done to your knee's one of my friends has knee prob's and according to him he's been told its the most painfull thing u can go through .. r maby second most painfull .,, im not sure ...

becides that im going with having to watch what happens to a kitten when left in a room with 2 dogs and syxpak

I'd have to say that a kick in nuts is the probably the most painful thing I can think of atm, without leaving any serious damage.

Papercuts inbetween your toes and fingers looks pretty damn sore awell though (Jackass). Getting pinched really hard is quite paintful, as are Chinese burns.

I once jumped off the top of a bunk bed (it was one of theose ones with a double bed on the bottom) and landed kidney first on the frame. Damn that hurt, and the frame (already weakened by myself and two others doing that repeatedly) collapsed a few days later.

I think the shock would kill you actually, unless you are of a strong mind. Didn't Tony Quinn hypnotise someone before for surgery ?

lol, reminds me of the jackass version of cribs where steve-o poured tabasco sauce in his eye:D

the worst pain i've ever gone through is a boot in the nads. i wouldn't wish that, or worse, on anyone else.

getting a punch in the ear, god damn that hurts and the pain lingers for ages.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 444 ✭✭s0l

You people have no imaginations :)
Being lifted off the ground by several fish hooks through your skin?
Teeth being removed with no anesthetic
Or getting your kneecap pierced by a random stranger :)

One time i was making food and using chillis.. there was still traces of them on my fingers hours after (even after washing my hands)
Then i had to take my contact lens out.. and some chilli got in my eye.. THAT was the most painful thing i've ever experienced

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,524 ✭✭✭✭Gordon

Heh I did that once and touched my willy after!

Kicking something really hard while having an ingrown toenail!

    So, so painful.

And your sock is always red with blood afterwards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,397 ✭✭✭✭azezil

WEll from personal experience i'd have to say a 'spinal fusion' without aid of pain killers.

In short: foot long incision, 1 1/2 ribs removed, metal rods stuck intospine, oh your illergic to morphine here have disprin... NOT NICE.

It was quite dark one night, I may have been a bit un-sober, but I saw a big piece of airboard, the type used for insulation or packing (or so I thought....)

Anyway, it was not airboard, it was 3/4 of a concrete block and I kicked it as hard as I possibly could. I was on the ground for about 15 minutes in pure agony.

It was amazing how no serious damage was done.

Not the most painfull thing ever but worth a mention.

and as for you azezil your soo brave !!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,714 ✭✭✭conZ

    lol.
i would have taught it would be a badly broken leg, like in bits up around the knee (well probably the most realistic of the lot.)
playing a match today, i went one on one with the keeper, crunching tackle.
taught i had broken my leg - just under the knee. was ****in painfull, just for that minute or so tho :)

you should have seen the keeper after it :D

    I'll give you pain!

My friend thought he was mad jumping from the top/middle of the stairs until he landed his left foot on a slant!

About 5 feet he fell from...

His bone is poking out of his ankle btw..

i heard of a torture called smily torture, where your lips are papercutted on each side (the bit beside the dimples.

Then your nails are plied off, and as you scream the paper cuts get wider.

also collarbone breakge in a rugby injury is pretty painful

also one where you get paper cutted 1000 times

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,478 ✭✭✭GoneShootin

listening to Celine Dion/Cher for any amount of time is quite painful

    tho that may induce suicide

Circumsition (sp?), from personal experience, was the most painful thing i ever went through. the "post in bed dance with HEAD + BED CLOTHES" was a nightmare.

I was walking down the stairs and then got this pain in my nuts and at the same time I sayed "wtf was that..?" 3 hours later my left nut was getting bigger and my right nut was getting smaller and it was REALLY REALLY PAINFULL and this is at 4.30am at night. I had to be rush to the hospital to relieve blood pressure that was going in my left nut. If I didn't went i'll lose my nuts :) . After 5 days later in the hospital I went home with some pain.

    THE END

    Well....

    - Having your nipples cut off with a scissors or any other sharp implement.

    - Without anathestic, having your teeth pliered out.

    - Wedgie while wearing a pair of speedoes, I was 7 at the time.

    - Having each of your nail's pulled out.

    - Being burnt almost to death, but not quite.

    - Listening to Drake talk in real life.

, haha i know what you mean
one time at football training, few years ago.
it was nite time and the manager was over turning on the lights
and we were kicking all the footballs all over the place. Cudnt see where we were kicking them as it was pitch dark. Then i ran over to kick what i thought was a football. I hit it as HARD as i could,
And after i kicked it i realised it was a MASSIVE ROCK!!!
didnt participate in the training anyways :)

    you're afraid of cuticles?

Hmm... being 4 and having cement blocks fall on top of you, breaking your thumb and then screaming yourself hoarse and eventually having to pull yourself out because no one can hear you. Oh and then not having it set for several days because stupid parents think all that was wrong was that it was cut.

Stupid thing is shorter than the other one now, and also aches in cold weather.

I still remember screaming for days on end from the pain.

Fractured my ankle once when I was small.

Never had it tended to for two weeks, when finally I had to have a cast applied.

Getting hit in the head by a dude with a knuckle duster, breaking my septum (nose) was sore.

Got a rib really badly broken Tae Kwon Do sparring... I have this really big calcified lump of bone at the site of the break..... that one was a doosie.

got my shoulder dislocated in the first few minutes of a rugby game. had to play the rest of the first half.
went to hospital next day only to have some Paki doctor tell me it ws muscle. a week later in which i still had to work and i still couldn't move my arm. went to a bone-setterand he put it back into place, now that was ****in sore!!
best thing was getting the free physio from this lovely female 4th year student in I.T. Carlow.
still hurts sometimes so i guess there is some long term damage

What about, having your heart broken?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,317 ✭✭✭✭seamus

Simultaneously breaking and dislocating your kneecap is no fun.

Mine still dislocates from time to time, which is completely unwelcome at any time. It doesn't hurt as much anymore though :)

Even though it can be fatal, I'm assured by a sufferer that it's curable if caught early enough, but lymph-node cancer is apparently incredibly painful

Getting kicked in the balls can kill you :)

There was this guy playing rugby and he had a bad tackle and had his hip dislocated, where the top of the leg bone ends, anyway the physio came over and decided to just knock it back into place. The guy screamed soloud that he tore his voice box. It turns out his testicles fell into the gap before it was snapped into place. Thats a true story. But the dude probablt couldn't have kids so they would be long term problems. I guess you could get your hands really really cold and whack them off a brick wall, that sucks ass big time.
