I noticed how we all seem to do nothing but moan and complain about everything.
So i'm starting this thread about a lit of positive things about Carlow IT and carlow Town. It could also prove usefull for listing services for people.

    The college is always clean.
We have great computer services in comparison to other colleges.
The town has plenty of pubs and chippers for it's size.
It has a bowling ally and a bit of a cinema.
    A varity of shops.

Add to the list and remember no negative posting.

Mord, is this gets good will you make it a sticky

Sorry but i have to say women!
    I love the ITC ladies!
anyway.......Loads of Sports facilities and teams both in the College and in the Town itself!
    Swimming pool.
McDonalds and SuperMacs......All we need now is Pizza Hut and BurgerKing!
    Great Night life (IMO)

    Its just deadly:)
Nearly everyone lives away from home
Most accom is near the college
The college is near the town
The price of a pint is still reasonable:)

i quite like the Ivy rooms in carlow, heading down town during a 2 hour class break for a few games of pool or snooker.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 18,986 Mod ✭✭✭✭Moonbeam

Was convinced 2 of my houses were haunted though so had to do some detective work!!
Thats how I found out about the Gaol etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,602 ✭✭✭ShayK1

i like the promotions in some of the pubs, at the start of the year there was stuff like buy a pint get one free in sheriffs, and the edge had a few good promos before. also naked mud wrestling and the strippers in the edge was good craic.
i have to admit the computers in the college are pretty good considering we could all be using ****ty Pentium1 200 or something, P3 800 is decent enough for a college. network is a bit ****ty at times but we wont get into that.
I LIKE THE PORTAL OF LIGHT

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,272 ✭✭✭i_am_dogboy

    yes...........the portal is cool
    spam

I remember when ye thought your house was haunted. Me and andy even had to get into the attic and walk around it to prove to you and bernie that there was no one living up there.
Who was it in the end, was it sean that was acting the **** or something?

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 18,986 Mod ✭✭✭✭Moonbeam

    I remember:)
We got the Attic Bolted after that:)
Think that was the same day that I got in from college and someone was in the shower but D and Sin were out and so i presumed that it was Bernie,The shower was dripping when I went upstairs and the bathroom steamy but Bernies room was locked and it turned out that she was in work, and no one was in the house, that started the attic man theory!
we had more instances in my house on green road too

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 3,290 ✭✭✭TomTom

The only weird thing in 102 was the dissapearing of our rent. We were haunted by the ghost of macky the money nacker.

I dunno dude, I have had lots of help from the staff. Computer services always lend me stuff (the lads have seen that one). Student services r very helpfull and so on.
I asume there r a few muppets but I have not had any probs yet. I am probably luck though

in fairness to Matt when The anti-war soc set up a conferance in the big lecture hall he came in on a day that he had gone home sick (and I can vouch that he was sick, he looked like sh!t) to record it so we could eventualy put it up on the cisco TV thingie

Ger houliahn is also fairly decent, helped lu and me out big time with project and various networking assignments - He hasn't forgot what it's like to be a student.
As for Jermanie (sp?) wha the hell is up with him lately, he's being a right narky git. Anytime you ask him for anything you get raised eyebrows and a look that says fcuk off. He wouldn't give me a copy of office for ten minutes one day, you'd swear I was going to run off with it. Grrrr.

I will never lie again. I will never lie again. I will never lie again.

I learned my lesson the hard way. Ger wasn't able to fix it snowball, have to do a "significant" report instead.
