    Cadbury's choc chip cookies

If you havent tried them..well you havent tried them.

There is a time and place for jaffa cakes but there not my fave.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 406 ✭✭the66electric

that 'time and a place' sounds when you have the munchies.

Love for all biscuits can be destroyed by excess. I used to love chocolate fingers, toffee pops, and hob nobs (God they all sound like gay practices) but due to consuming warehouse amounts of these, the thought of them make me want to hack up dense swathes of vile pasty chunkage...

    I go on a bit don't i?

Does anyone remember the bags of chocolate chip cookies you used to be able to get for 99p?

i lived on them in the gaelteacht.........

i like any biscuits that have chocolate on em specially white chocolate........

the Germans have the nicest biscuits ever though......

I occasionally like Jaffa Cakes. I treat digestives like Crackers; great with cheese or something but a bit dull otherwise. To accompany a cup of tea though, what you need is a Kit Kat. Can that count as a biscuit, as it is all biscuity inside?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,287 ✭✭✭thedrowner

marks and sparks white chocolate chip cookies are the definitive biccy

but u cant eat any more than one or ull be sick or ahve rampant heartburn

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 406 ✭✭the66electric

For some reason the total number of Rich Tea biscuits i can consume with a cup of tea makes them my favorite buscuits.

Any cheap buscuits from LIDL are smashing too because of the fact that you can buy 9 packets for 40c.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,286 ✭✭✭SprostonGreen

9 pckts for 40c, probably full of chemicals that lower your sperm count, you'd wanna watch that 66

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 406 ✭✭the66electric

It actually has rendered me sterile but luckily i spent a week in solitude when i was 18 'producing' enough to make me a hundred families and it all resides nicely in a cryogenic facility in my basementfor the last few years awaiting usage.

    Thanks for caring though....

I also lived on those huge bags of choc chip cookies in the Gaeltacht, Amz,... interesting....it seemed to be the only edible food in the whole of Galway!...somebody should teach those "Bean an Ti's" how to cook! ..my fave biscuit at the moment would probably have to be tho...toffee pops, followed closely by two rich tea biscuits with butter in the middle....class!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,330 ✭✭✭✭Amz

I think part of the charm of the gaelteacht is the fact that the bean on ti's can't cook! it adds to the excitement at every meal you sit and ponder "will this piece of chicken be the one?" or "the fact that there's still a red liquidy liquid still coming out of this meat doesnt mean anything.....does it?"

ah the evenings afer ceilis when you were so hungry you wolfed down yer slice of toast and were damn greatful for it! coz you knew you werent gonna be eating until that same time the following day!

I think it makes you appreciate the work that our primary care givers do........uncaring animals that they are sending their offspring down to Galway or god forbid if you were like me Mayo!!!!

But yeah i liked those chocolate chip cookies........especially if they had hazelnuts in em..........at least i think they were hazelnuts......

It isnt my fault that your the only one who likes to deep throat the sausages and tickle chicken balls with your tongue every time we get a chinese in!!!!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,287 ✭✭✭thedrowner

oh my goodness. i also actually order prawn cracker with my chinese food. coz its nice to stick noodles and rice in the prawn crackers and then eat them. so stop slagging him.

    *runs out the door*

I too eat prawn crackers *and* dry cereal, though not simultaneously. I also consider jaffa cakes to be the creation of a being of true evi. And i don't mean that in a good way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,164 ✭✭✭Space Coyote

prawn crackers...mmm, just ordered some with my beef curry and fried rice (very original). But they go super together, of course i'll be doubled over in agony for the rest of the night but its all worth it.
wait a minute, its not worth it at all...what the hell am i doing.

Greatest bikkies ever have to be.....

Hmmm, I have to say I used to be a 'Chocolate filled with chocolate covered in chocolate with a chocolate cream' biscuit type person, but since I started the job I have now where I can buy all the biscuits anyone can eat for lo lo prices I've gone to a more Hob Nob type thing. I also like those Ritz crackers and the Biscuits for Cheese assortments.

Here, did anyone else like those Afternoon Tea chocolate biscuits with the jelly stars or was that just me??

Phantom Studio: Arrival of Ace bars, Jaffa cakes, and assorted other biscuits imminent. Apologies for the break in service.

I actually had Party Rings this week for the first time since i was about 10 and i had forgotten how good they are!! Mmmmm sugary!!!

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 16,698 Mod ✭✭✭✭Silverfish

Crikey Lamda, I've just had an incredible flashback there. Didn't they used to come in a fully round variety as well? I wasn't really allowed them as a kid cos I'd scoff the whole packet and be bouncing off walls for the rest of the day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,062 ✭✭✭SimonMaher

    Silverfish,

Yay! (Pete Reed clicks heels with joy). Yay for biscuits.

    Personal preferences:
The aformentioned Jaffa Cakes (ideally McVitties Orange bit merged with Jacobs sponge).
    ACE Bars
    Chocolate Gems
    Fox's Classic Bars
    Bolands Custard Creams
    McVitties American Masterpieces

    Yum.

    Regards,

    Pete Reed

    Boland's Custard Creams????

My god, they were the only biscuits my parents bought for years and years and they are hideous. For shame.

I'm doing wee bits of market research here and McVities are winning by a mile.

'McVities......nine out of ten Phantom listeners prefer them.....and the one in ten is most likely a chumbawaba fan'

    What a hook. Promotion imminent.

    Chocolate bourbons..

The name is slightly misleading as there is a noticable absence of alcohol but they're nice all the same.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 726 ✭✭✭lamda

Ugh no not chocolate bourbons!!!! I may call the Consumer Board for as you say they have nothing to do with bourbon and also they are a poor excuse for chocolate.. i was forced to eat them once... warped me for life!!!
And Silverfish YES! I think they did have circle ones as well as rings!! Ah the memories....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 747 ✭✭✭Cherry

I would say anything brown advertised as chocolate is ok in my book but that could lead to many, many unfortunate incidents.

So I'll withdraw my bourbons & submit Jammy Dodgers. :)

Ever look at Choc ices wrappers?? It actually says chocolate flavour coating.... im sorry but thats just too suspicious!!
