OK my first time into this board and im starting a thread already.
Anyway, ive been watching a cartoon TV series with my 4 year old who is already a big Marvel/DC fan already ( Batman being his favroite hero ). Its called Static about a Meta human who can control electrisity and magnitism. He fights these evil meta humans yada yada........

Any on the Den this morning Static is fighting his uasual villans when all these ballons with smiley faces rise out of a person hole. Low and behold the joker apears ( Voiced my mister Hammil himself, arguabally a better joker that Nickolson ). Me thinking this teenage boy hero no match for the joker batman and the Boy wonder show up ( Not the robin who becomes Night wing, the younger one ). Well it was a class show i really enjoyed and i dident even know batman and Static were from the same DC universe, but there you go, one can be suprised, even on a saturday morning. Any one else seen this?

Any one else think the DC using meta humans is kinda ripping Marvel a bit. Seen Birds of Prey yet? more meta humans.

Yeah but then have you seen some of the titles that Marvel are coming out with these days?

Check out their website - there's some on there you can see for yourself. One of them is one of an orphaned boy who inherited a fortune with a wise cracing butler as his godparent.

He is out fighting crime one day when he has to stop 2 crooks in an orphanage. While there he notices a boy and decides to adopt him and take him into his care in his huge mansion....where little beknown to the boy - he goes out at night dressed up as....wait for it.....an OWL!

Now if this isn't the most original story line you've ever heard of I don't know what is :D

    Is that "Marville"? or something?

If so, it's an intentional parody.

Yeah it is....you can tell it's a parody cause he basically messes up so much...but the point is that they still do take the piss out of DC characters. Wether through parody's or through formal titles.

Besides - there's a couple of titles out like I think the one I saw was Superman written by Stan Lee. Ie. What would superman have been like if he had been written by Stan Lee.
