Im off the smokes 11 weeks now and guess what I havent turned into one of those reformed smokers(YET)..Used to smoke 40+ before I gave up.

I tried this Zyban stuff and Id recommend it if you can put up with the side effects.
Insomnia, acne but the worst is the Suicidal thoughts.Really scary!!!!Was lying in bed the other night wondering how I could tap my self with anything in the room.Mental!!!!!

I haven't the time to really consider giving up. There's just not enough space in my schedule. And me not smoking is a bad thing for all else round me.

Last time I tried giving up, a fiercely non-smoking colleague bought me 20 smokes for his own sanity.

Even so, it's on my list of "Things to do" along with "Going on Holiday" and "Write Novel".

I'm a 20 a day man. As for the price of smokes, I haven't bought them in Ireland for ages. I just stock up every time I'm abroad.

Perhaps that's true but I'd never know because I'm too busy hating the preachy bastards. ;)

Tried smoking many many times, never saw the fuss. Just fvcks up your voice.....

It's also really handy when someone rolls up, I still get a little high from the tobacco, before the smooth plateau. mmmmm................

Military-style, anti-Smoking campaigners are like socialist compaigners in that they just try to shove their opinions down people's throats, and scream in their ear, doing far more damage than good for their cause...........

That said, I'll slag smokers, but more in a derogatory, "Stop complaining about being broke or I'll kill you", kind of way. Smoke if you like, and fvck yourself up. See if I care :D

I'm around 15 a day atm myself, up from 10  night out, easily 20-30.

Maj, mebbe if you stop reading the boards and replying to trolls you are trying to troll your chances of giving up may increase :D

Don't get me wrong boys and girls.

I don't care if you smoke, so long as (a) I don't have to breath it (b) I don't have to foot your medial bills with my taxes.

Yes I used to be a smoker and yes being 'very' anti-smoking, helps me stay away from them.

    If it ain't broke.....

Well, youll never have to complain about that then now that you dont smoke and pay around 70% tax for every pack.

Actually,How much, out of interest is the deficit between cigarette related exchequeror income and smoking related public health spending?

(im guessing your the type of millitant anti-smoker that has these sort of factoids to hand :) )

has anyone had any success buying cigs online from

I don't care if you smoke or not, as long as I don't have to breathe in your filthy fúcking smoke. This includes places like pubs and restaurants. I know there was a thread about that particular topic a few weeks ago and all, but I think the non-smokers have more right to breathe clean air than the smokers do to smoke wherever they like. If you smoke some place where it doesn't disturb others, fine.

I dont think this is true. From what I've read in papers the government loses more money through the health service dealing with smoking related illness than it gets from the revenues of the tabacco industry. But with FF close link with big business you never know

There is a difference in all those places - places I fully approve of no smoking in though. Pubs are slightly different though, a more relaxed, social atmosphere. It may very well be a matter of time, but I suspect it will be a long time coming
