There are quite a few in this Category, the two most that I would like to see would have to be.

Dave Matthews Band, yes I know that was an obvious one.

Live ( the band ), the last album wasn't the best but nearly everything before that, with exception to the first album which I had imported from Amazon and turned out to be a big pile of poo.

Dave Matthews Band, is a good one alright. I'd love to see that here!

Other then that I'd love if the original Guns-N-Roses line up that recorded Appetite not any of the other guys that came along after! Got together worked it out and did a tour! + It would get rid of that stupid looken fecker with the KFC bucket on his head that Axl plays with now in what basically is a G-N-R tribute band.

Also there would be a rule that Axl can't change his cloths every 5 min's in the Show. He was turning into Diana Ross for **** sake.
O yea going back to what I said before NO Fecken Dizzy Read No Exceptions.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 209 ✭✭Niall S.

Defo the original GNR line up without a doubt but I taught that the idea was the band had to alive as in still together.
I have as much interest in seeing Axl without Slash as I have in seeing Trev without pants. hehehehehe

But hey, Dave is going to come here some day, some day my lovelies.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,508 ✭✭✭johnnynolegs

yeah id like to see tool actually and polar and 66e

yeah that is strange ah well

When I said alive, I didn't mean that the band members had to be still alive, more that the band members had to be willing to play gigs together, I don't know about you but I can't see Axl and Slash presenting any MTV music awards together sometime soon.
About the articly that band sounds much more promising, I was never mad about Axl's voice anyway, but still though I reckon that you should send in your Demo, Neil. never know could be a good oppurtunity for you.

    Cheers.

    Niall.

Jesus now that is funny Me replacing Axl one of my Idols growing up. I don't think I'd have the ball's for that. But cheers anyway man.
I thought Axl's voice was cool personally very distinctive.

On another note I'm hoping to get there with my own lads.

    Cheers man,
Yea we do we just finish 2 new tracks called "U Want It" and "Hang Tight" which are in a harder direction which is the way the band is going now. We also had another track on Phantom called "Wasted" which is still played so I'm told. It's the track with the Slide Guitar solo.

Our Drummer got a bad back problem at the end of last year and it even came to the point that he might not be able to play again. So were only "back" a few mounths now and glad to be. But your right it has been a while sence we had new stuff. Were gonna give the stuff to Phantom and see what the focks think. I've been meaning to check out your band as I've heard lots of good things. Maybe we'll get to gig together sometime who knows. O yea were also on The "Its All Bells" record out in December doing "Rockin Robin" which was a laugh to do.
    Thanks for asking.

Definitely Saves the Day or Nickelback;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 279 ✭✭sodiumlightbaby

Polarbelly and Lamda, The Cure are most definitely still going....I went to see them in Hyde park London during the summer. I have seen them about 10 times and it was the most amazing gig I have ever seen them play...they seem to have gotten even better with age(if that's possible).

They have also just completed three "Trilogy" concerts in Belgium and germany playing Pornography, Disentegration and Bloodflowers live in their entirety.....all reports were that it was amazing...a DVD of the Berlin show will be released in February 2003.

They are also in the studio as we speak recording a new album due for release spring/early summer 2003.

check www.chainofflowers.com or www.thecure.com for more info.

and yes I am a bit obsessive about them....

the smile didnt leave my face for the full 50 minutes they were on stage...bloody brilliant!!!!!

i'd love to have seen nirvana way back when.
as for living bands, i'd love to see metallica, and i wish i'd gone to ozzfest and witnness because i missed tool, soad, slayer, green day, foo fighters!! gah!!

I have to admit that never seeing the Stone Roses live still kills me. They just had this synergy thing going cos they were and are pretty mediocre as individuals Otherwise, it has to be the Counting Crows for me, i'll end that in January please God. Oh and ****e, i've never seen Pulp, which is ridiculous. I'd love to see Sunrise live (the Pulp song, not some obscure seventies band from Sweden who were killed in a skiing accident).

Otherwise out of the question ones are: The Smiths, Rory Gallagher and of course, our very own Thin Lizzy..

(i saw Badly Drawn Boy tonight and he was absolutely deadly and i told him so. God i'm stoned)

Can't wait for Doves next month...

    erm... Faith No More!

    Wools

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 279 ✭✭sodiumlightbaby

no plans for anymore live dates in UK at the moment...but no doubt they will be playing some gigs to promote the new album next year.......actually, there is talk of a special event in the UK next year to celebrate 25 years of existence....a gig with all ex Cure members playing on stage...fantastic !

You might see The Cure in ireland again but they really need to play somewhere like the olympia or Ambassador and stay away from the likes of the Point.

Um, Tool. I saw them at Ozzlessfest and they were great. I cried cos I'd wanted to see them for soo long and I'd had to listen to Mister 120 Minutes going on about them (even though it was me who introduced him to Tool and their wondrous ways) and it was such a happy, happy moment......

BUT!!! at the minute, I'm pretty content with hauling myself off my sofa to go see the following:

    Polar

    Johnny Pyro

aaaaand.......that's it. Very little impresses me but these guys do.

It'd have to be They Might Be Giants... I missed them when they came over a few years back, being to young to even attempt to impersonate an 18 year old but my big bro assures me they were fantastico!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,048 ✭✭✭DerekD Goldfish

Currently id like to see weezer live
from the past I would have loved to see whipping boy, jeff buckey the pixies or stone roses live
Also the clash and sex pistols punk was much better in the seventies

BY the way for the person wanting to see the clash reform (Bandit I think) word is that it could be posibble as they are rumered to be reforming for thier induction in to the rock and roll hall of fame and after that who knows?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 681 ✭✭✭Kopf

I would love to have seen the smashing pumpkins, a band i'm obsessed with, before they split, on the siamese dream tour, or jeff buckley. alas it will never be..

I think it would have to be David Bowie around 1974 just when Diamond Dogs was released or Alice Cooper about the same time 73/74. That was rock. Of course it would have been great to see Depeche Mode when Vince Clarke was in. Hmmm...

    My top three unseen acts

    Pj Harvey
    Smog
    Bright Eyes

Plus I have to see the Flaming Lips at least three more times, they have to be my favourite live band of all time.

A long time ago, while out for a few jars, I suggested to my mates that we should maybe go see this fellah called Jeff Buckley who was playing in Whelan's that evening. I'd heard a clip on TV and I think he sounded ok. "Who? Nah, c'mon we just go out", they said. So we didn't bother.

    F U C K K K K ! ! !

I also didn't bother going to see Bill Hicks in Dublin, cause I thought he was still on a tour that had already been televised, which I knew backwards. Wrong - brand new show.

    Double F U C K K K ! ! !
