Using the short version of my first name, which I use mostly, 135 results and I'm 2 and 5.

But no 1 is a US DIY suppliers, no 2 , is an Aussie Surfing Memorial Carnival - which I have to investigate.

Using long first name, 1 in 3 - and none are me!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,838 ✭✭✭DapperGent

The first 2 of 172 were me.

    All the others were weirdos.

First match was my old college website. It's the trashiest website in trash town. What am I still doing with that userspace? I can still login and everything. Weirdos.

    615 - none me :D

Used Google.ie for more personalized results. Plus my name is very Irish anyway.

    Turned up pages on:

    A Longford Hurler,
A very active member of iiu.taint.org in 2000,
Some guy in UL who has written a *lot* of papers about computers

Funny, considering I'm a member of IIU now, and do computer science. (I also played hurley when I was wee, but who didn't?)

    :)

did and while most of it is inconclusive, mainly stuff matching my first name with the surname somewhere down the page

To get accurate results you need to use "quote marks".

My own serach threw up a musician, a performance artist,
a realtion of the guy who discovered Tutankhamun, a seller of Bridal wear in Essex, someone who has died and had a scholarship
named in thier memory, a reverend in Amarillo, an actor from Return of the jedi, a composition theorist (eh?), a specialist tile fitter.

    That'll do methinks! :D

Ive been looking on that school website and it seems the pics from the open day have been removed:((they were there last year) I wouldnt have minded printing out some bad pictures of my friends.:D Ah well..........

Just thought Ill do searches of some of my friends names,as well as things related to the school, and maybe Ill find the Google cache page with it on it.Am i right in thinking that every single page ever tracebale on google is cached for ever?I know that oif a page is unavailable you can view it with the cache function but does this disappear if the original site doesnt make a comeback?

    mines a very rare name

78 matches, a few about me, but mainly about a cousin of mine who is quite well known

  • Subscribers Posts: 9,716 ✭✭✭CuLT

I am a Paralypmic world champion in sailing, ( who notably won a close race with a vessel called "Ireland")

I am a specialist in family law,
I wrote a letter to the pope at some stage,
I did original research into the practice of "cracking concrete" :P.

Thats it tho, not a single reference to me, and most of its all about the paralympic guy, theres like 25,000 listings.

the only reference to myself i have ever found is if i search for "Cultellus" and the third ref is a pre-vbulletin snippet from my profile which no longer exists :P.

As you can imagine, CuLT brings up about a quarter of a million results, with "CuLT"+Ireland getting 95,000.
