"...when you remember when all this was fields. "

    Good thread! I like it..

I find I always refer to people by their boards name, or at best interchangeably with their actual name.... Like Slann will always be Slann and Amp will always be Amp to me :)
In fact, I'm not sure I know Amps actual name at all... :)

    pffff

    Newbie!

My computer illiterate friends now know of the existence of something called boards.ie, but they have no idea what it is and are probably sick of me going on about it.

My computer literate friends are more than likely all members! :D

And I'll not mention the girlfriend... ;)

I don't Adam and Eve it! After all we've been through? Where is the love? Also, when did the real-life(tm) names disappear from the Forum Leaders page?

Yeah my gf got a tad worried last time when I told her I was going drinking with a 'load of people from the internet'. She was texting me every 5 mins, and wasn't too impressed when I rolled home absolutely incoherent and completely broke. Of course to my mates I was going drinking with a 'load of people from work'(TBH, a half-truth), otherwise I'd never live down the slags. :D

Well Im not the most frequent poster here but I use the same alias on various boards eg BW, OCUK, Jolt etc. And I really knew I was spending too much time on BBS's in general, when one day I signed off on an actual work email as "Q" :)

Needless to say the person on the other end was mightily confused.

"...a longer lunchbreak? I heartily endorse this product and/or service!"

"what do I think? fúck it - atari jaguar."

when you look forward to checking each thread you replied to and ones you started and you know exactly where each one is before you've even booted up.

when You set up a hotmail a/c specifically to inform you of every thread you have subscribed to or any pm that may arrive and you can't find any more threads to reply to.

    Seamus
When you're going out for a boards get together and you tell your friends you're going to meet some other friends/colleagues/some cute guy/girl you met in the pub the week before :p because you're afraid what they might say :) if you told them the truth and are afraid to confess how much time you actually spend here and how well you know everyone.

Yup, bloody hell thats annoying, i mean there should be a "my avatar only" option :) There's a money maker for ya.

When you tell DeV you're going to head hunt him cause he's all fluffy :)

When people ask you how you started talking to your boyfriend and you have to explain it was while you were selling yourself online...
... when you don't NEED to explain boards.ie to people who don't use it any more, because, er, you don't KNOW any people who don't use it....

My mates know what boards is and i've plugged it so regularly they've told me to stop. :)

When you're almost afraid that some of your friends will use boards because of the things you told them about and the people you've talked about!
