OK looking for the old school heads only on this one: it's a toughie from circa93-94.
Robbie Nelson (of Agnelli &) used to drop this almost every set back when he played the Arena in Armagh. I can still hear it now but I never heard it any place else (although it was on a few mix tapes from that period).
Anyways the vocal, which sounds lie it's sung by Johnny Lydon of all people, goes something like this:

    High times, feelin' fine,
Kick off your shoes and let's blow our minds together,
    __________________...headin' for the avenue
    (breakdown) (chorus)
I want your love, I want it right now,
Because in my heart there's only you,
I want your love, I want it right now,
Because in my heart there's only you

Lift me up and blow me away,
I don't care what other people say...

That's the start and end bits (it's been a long time) and it was very uplifting, housey piano type tune. Also included in sets alongside this was the likes of Artemisa Bits n pieces, Drugs by Moby, Jacks' Groove, Follow me by Jam&Spoon: you get the idea.
Good times, but that tune kind of outdid all the rest. I don't expect to find it on P2P (although that would rock) but I'm willing to shell out for this on vinyl if only I could find the title...

    Anyone?

Its by Casino (i think) can't think of the name off the top of my head though. A friend has it i'll find out for you

    Hi guys
This tune is i think from around 94 95.
It samples the vocals from Marshall Jefferson's the house anthem song (move your body) ie:
"Gotta have house music all night long, with that house music you can't go wrong, its gonna set you free"
I think it sample's the main piano melody from the prodigy's your love for its main melody aswell.

Second one all I remember is there is a girl shouting "Keep on pushing harder pushing harder" over and over in the track??

These two tracks I remember always bein played on energy Hot and nova during the 90's.
I really wanna find out the names of these tracks so any help is much appreciated!!
    cheers

The first one is reycycle part 1

ok this is going to be a really hard one to find out but to anyone who does it I will buy you drinks, lots of drinks.

Starts with a looping riff going kinda

dunnnh, dunnhhhh dunnnh (sounding very like a child TV program but not actually one)

then this kids starts ranting, muttering and talking speeded up.

The kid has an English accent and I think he is talking about being in trouble with the cops.

Think he could metion his mate Paul but thats already Mr Homes song.

It could be a Xen Cuts track or maybe something from Ninja Tunes?

    Anyone any ideas?

    Emmo

A mate who lurks on boards has just told me that its Wagon Christ and Bendover.

    Thanks guy,

    Anyone know the track which has the following vocals at the beginning;

I was in search of perfection, a rainbow to fill up... (female vocal)

then backing that there is a guy I think saying... drug fits the face.

I had heard it was Moby but sounds nothing like his stuff, I have a Moby track called drug fits the face but its a remix and sounds nothing like what I have described above.

I think the track would be early '90s. Any help appreciated :)

I'm looking for a song that got fairly heavy airtime on HotFM last year or the year before. There's a male vocal repeating over and over "Get a life you drug addicts" and the beats are circa '96 or so. Any ideas on the name or artist?

On a lighter note, I'm trying to compile a collection of "knacker dance" as a joke for a friends birthday, stuff like R'n'B - Experience, Abreema - Can't Stop Raving, The rubber ducky song, Schumacher etc... Basically, music to drive Peugout 206s by :D Any suggestions?

it was also rereleased under the name "get a life" on tripoli trax (hot potato's mother label)
most of the remixes were fairly **** though. Andy Farley's is the only one that really stands out.

Another track with the same sample is Corina "Loving you like crazy", but I'm pretty sure Moby's is one your looking for. Discogs.com have it down as Barracuda (a Moby alias) but I have it on an original Moby CD too. The LP is Early Underground (1991).

It's a great ol' track and many years old - hence it may not sound like the Moby people know today.

It's called Drug Fits The Face (unsurprisingly). Try this site for a sample, although that remix is totally off the original. Here's the 1991 release details. The sample is from Drugface, by Enflame. Hope that helps.

Does anyone know the name of the tune that's used in the background on POP-TV on TG4? I think the video took place in a stomach or something and people were floating in bubbles. I think it used a vocal sample that sounded like it was from an old blues record.

    Thanks,
    0.

I don't know about the video that you mentioned but the track that I've heard them play a lot on POP-TV is "Love Story" by Layo & Bushwacka taken from their Night Works Album.

Most of these should be easy enough for ya.

    1. This one has the vocal - 'listen its getting closer' (male) and then a female singing 'tell me baby im not dreaming, i feel so real' and it has a sound in it that sounds like a frog.

Cian - the tune your after is "Treefrog" (Vocal mix) by Hope.

"Hide-a-way" by Nu Soul feat. Kelly Rich. I think it's the Lisa Marie Experience mix your after, but the Helicopter vocal mix is a belter too. It came out in 1996, on Royal Records, and also on FFRR.

    Also been asked here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=201515

    Hope that helps!

Now...You should def. know this. It's a retro dance song played on Nova 94.6 tonight.

Think the artist is called "The Shaker" but discogs has left me none the wiser. Lyrics are very hard to decipher but it's got an unmistakable piano track behind it. Lyrics go something like:

"....up your he-head...with feather in your ha-hair"
"won't ya listen ple-ease, I'll put your mind at ease"

If anyone has the full info. that'd be great as I've realised I don't have copy of this.

    Thanks in advance.

It is by The Shaker, and it's called Mooncat (Beryl's Whiskied Up Piano Mix) on Ugly Bug Records (Cat no: UBR002). Pretty hard to get hold of a copy, as it's always in demand. I've just this week managed to pick up a copy from GEMM. The remixes are pretty easy to come by, but not as good as this mix.

Wow I never knew that. Great stuff. That release on Discogs would be quite a purchase as it's got Le Voie Le Soleil on the B side. Learn something new every day.

Thanks for the Mooncat confirmation. Can't afford to start looking on eBay at the mo but thanks! :D

GEMM are like an intermediary. It may be better (and cheaper) to contact the seller directly to arrange purchase.

Let us know how you get on because it is by far the most impressive listing I've ever seen. It's coming up with results for things don't appear in Google, Discogs or HTFR combined.

Reminds me of eBay and Paypal in its own way but never heard anything about this until now.

I've just ordered something from them now. It was through their Green Shield guarantee so it mean't the payment is processed through Gemm and not the seller so the seller doesn't have access to your credit card details, which is a plus. Gemm take a 15% surcharge which in this case is only 15% of $7.00 which is nothing really.
    Hopefully all goes well!!

I have bought plenty of music on gemm and never had a bad experience. Its worth checking the track details though for the copies the seller has and I sometimes email them first to confirm label, mix etc. I do tend to stick to the gemm approved sellers so cant really say about the others. I have bought records from all over europe on gemm, Germany can be great for old classics.

Bought a copy on gemm this morning, $14. Thanks for the help.

Another site that I have picked up lots of classics for reasonable money is:

www.replayrecords.com They are in the UK somewhere. Unlike HTFR, they only list tracks that they have in stock. Very good store with fast shipping etc. Its always worth double checking on discogs first that you have the correct mix etc - I apply this to all online buying.
