    Hi Tony,

    Looks good.

    TV Link €22
    Remote €29

    Total €51

    Both together €34

    Saving €17 not €23

As a matter of personal preference, I would include VAT in your prices. The majority of people will be paying VAT. I do not like having to add on the extra. If I could claim back the VAT I wouldn't mind having to do the calculation as it is in my favour.

Your prices on the Sky packages page are a bit confusing.

    Hi Tony,

According to your FAQ your suppliers say that Sky+ will be available here in April. Have you heard anything further on this?

    Tony

How do you manage to include BBC in the following?

"Free Panasonic Digibox with BBC, RTE, TV3, TG4 as well as the full sky digital service."

Or is it just the Radio.

    Regards

    Fred F.

Tony why dont you show the price including vat also?
    just a humble suggestion.
    :)

/edit: ahh, but you have the actual price shown when you complete an order.

Wow that was quick, thanks for the responses guys. The reason I kept VAT separate was that Mr. Mc Creevy decided to increase it and I did not want it to appear that I had increased prices so soon after the Euro but I guess thats all passed now so it seems to consensus is to include vat. Interestingly the Americans dont include TAx and they have signs up saying "The governemnt charges tax we dont" :D I'll look into the whole vat thing thanks again.

Yep I see your point, perhaps I should add "subject to subscription" or "Terms and conditions apply" What do you think?

You left out the "i" in Sky Movie World.

Apart from that, it looks a lot cleaner, and the pages seem to load very quickly. Great job.

I agree with the rest of the gang regarding the inclusion of VAT in the price. It's a bit annoying when you have to do percentages to figure out the final price.

    Tony i think shane meant
In the packages you gave the price (say 45 per month)
Then underneath you gave another price( 99.00)

I know its the installation price but does everyone else.

Nice site , its simple and easy to use

will you be closing the old one or adding a link?

    Hi Tony,
I like the site-yes it is easy to use.
I too may be interested in the Sky +
If it becomes available, I will give you a shout.
    Just one question.
I was going to post this as a separate topic at some point but it's yourself that would answer it anyhow.
You say in the F.A.Q that Sky digital is available anywhere....
I have some friends who got an installer out recently and could not get Sky for them.
Their house has to be in the most beautiful location, I have ever seen.
It is around 800 ft above sea level cut into rock on the side of a mountain which is wooded and rises above them to their south and west and a little bit to the East.
the View down over the Aughrim valley, vale of Avoca and out over to Lugnauilla mountain is amazing-the whole place looks alpine:)
Have you ever heard of a situation like that where there seems to be no possibility of getting Sky digital due to the mountain and would there be any way out?
Typically how far can a sky digital cable run go without being prohibitively expensive?
And can I ask them to contact you?
    mm

Unfortunately your friends seem to have an obstruction between themselves and the satellite, they could remote locate a large dish and use very low loss cable but the question is is there somewhere nearby where a dish could be located with a clear view to 28 degrees east?

I love the site, Tony, and may I add, the look and feel is much stronger with the new version. I also found the search function is very useful, something which was definitely lacking from the current site. I have also tested this, and unlike some sites I have used, it works well and delivers complete results.

Just out of interest, do you have a physical 'shop'? I notice there is no physical address on the website - if you have one, I expect there are some visitors who (being less technically inclined) would prefer to call to you in person than deal online or over the phone.

Best of luck with the site, as always I will check with it first if I am buying / pricing anything.

Thanks for the kind words. I actually do not have a shop because Dublin corporation were looking for 5 grand rates and the margins and volumes on satellite would not support this.

The site's looking good, Tony. :)

I notice you mention 2-LNB bracket available for the 80cm dish. Do you sell the 3-LNB bracket for 13, 19 and 28?

    Good work Tony,
It's a lot faster than the last site, whatever way the pages are loading it's a lot better.

The only critism I can come up with is the digibox gif on the front page is bad, use one of these:

    http://images.google.com/images?q=panasonic+digibox&hl=en

Also you should expand the description a bit for the FTA boxes or even provide links to the manufactures website. A FAQ might be good too, it would probably save you time answering all those emails.

Yes they do exist as I noticed one in What Satellite TV mag advert. The advert is for WizardSatellite.co.uk and the holder is called "Gemini 15". The advert sez "receives Astra1, Astra2 and Hotbird of one 90cm dish" and costs UK£49 so it actually comes with dish. I would prefer to buy one in Ireland though.

Hi, The only ones I can get right now are 2 lnb brackets for the channel master 80cm dish but I'm pretty sure you could use the bits from 2 brackets to the same effect. I'll take a look next time I install one.

Sorry did not see the image first time around. I would be more inclined to centre the dish on 19 and use lnb's left and right, dont forget power levels are lower here than in Uk so you cant always trust dish size's lnb'c configurations etc. If you check out a footprint map on Lyngsat you will see what I mean.

    In the FAQ ...

What channels are available on Sky Digital?
Quite a few in fact too many to list here, so heres a link to the Irish cable and digital guide. Copy or paste it into your browser, and dont forget to come back! http://myhome.iolfree.ie/~icdg/tuning_sky.htm#100

For ease of use I would try and make this link clickable rather than having the user cut and paste into a browser.

    sorry for being picky !!!:D

Personally i think that config wastes 1/2 a dish.
    LNb positions for me.

    Left: Hotbird

    Right: Astra2

    Right Centre: Astra1

..and no less than a 80cm Dish.

The diagram below is in no way accurate, just the idea visualised.

    Additional Channels added today
Channels testing - on xx frequencies

great site but i noticed 2 mistakes.

on the Frequently Asked Questions page there is this question:
What channels are in the EUR27 sixty one channel entertainment pack?

    you answer:
4 Sports Channels - keep up to date with Sky Sports.com TV, Eurosport, Eurosport news and Talk Sport

Sky Sports.com TV has gone back to being called Sky Sports News again
Talk Sport isn't available on Sky in Ireland

in the packages section you mention M2. M2 has been called MTV2 for some time now

best of luck with the new site

Nice site. From a Marketing point of view why do you not include cnn and fox news as I know one or two americans that have Sky for that reason.

Also you should mention that several stations are free, such as TCM, CNN, ITN, and euronews, to name a few.

    Tony,

    Nice site!
In your FAQ section you give Sky+ (in UK) as a solution to the problem of trying to watch two different Sky channels at the same time. I thought Sky+ only allowed you to watch one and record another?

Very true but I was thinking of the mirror subscription which I now see is not clear from the answer. Thanks for pointing that out I'll update ASAP. Thanks for the compliment, I would also like to credit Liz at desktop Ireland for the design work

Yeah very good point. It would make more sense to centre dish to 19E. And is it just me or shouldn't the LNB's be slighty misaligned (one higher/lower than centre) - the image shows 3 necks in a straight line which I thought was wrong. Anyhoo, I don't think I will bother aboiut it now. The main reason I was considering Astra 1 was for EON (but that's another story).

    Thanx
