I used to work as a professional web developer in a company in town.

Nowadays, since the company went bust last year, I mainly work as a barman in Donaghmede.

I also do a bit of work for myself, writing a couple of web sites, doing some computer support, and putting on entertainment events (mainly in the bar I work in) such as themed quiz nights, disco's, etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,093 ✭✭✭Static M.e.

Mayshine what exactly is a technical architech?
I keep seeing it advertised asking for all kinds of funky stuff
but what exactly do yee do

    thanks
( just a quick off topic question )

Spare-parts manager for a leading car dealership/Trying to get my own company up and running at the mo repairing/upgrading/selling puter stuff etc.
Most of the questions I post on the Tech and/H/w tweaking is for punters who think I can do the job.Well if they want to pay €50 per hour Im not gonna argue.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 510 ✭✭✭Mayshine

Hmm, yeah I've been wondering what exactly that is myself. My boss put it down on my last review, and as far as I'm concerned he knows best:cool: Anyway I design and code certain parts of a multichannel architechture used for banking, the sort of stuff that is used for Internet banking, banking over your phone etc

In my company the term is used quite loosly, but I guess it would apply to a person who can produce a good design to solve any sort of technial issue/problem etc etc

In reality I am little more than a programmer with a bit of desing thrown in

Used to work for a while helping in the production of the steel frames for warehouses etc. Then worked for a hardware company sitting on a forklift all day (handy for speeding off when ya may be asked to do something!) Then worked as an underpaid dogsbody on a building site. Hopefully after I complete this year in college (my last tf) ill finally get the job im after (PC repairs etc)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 510 ✭✭✭Mayshine

Hmm, Its really not all that hard. I would imagine some coders get stuck trying to solve more archic problem than an architect ever will.

A *real* technical architect generally should have quite a good few years of problem solving behind them

All just fancy names at the end of the day
