Now Excuses my ignorence on this but what is actually involved in getting cable is it a new line to the TV or dose it use the existing cable for the tv.

If it uses the existing TV coaxal what is involved? is it just a new extention from the cable already in you home and dose it matter how many extentions one already has 'cause i have it split 6 times and i am afriad that another time would make the reception crap

the cable system just makes use of the cable (2 way).
there's no loss of tv signal @ all.

if you live in an NTL digitally upgraded area then you will have a white box somewhere in your house (about the size of 2 phone books).
the cable modem connects to here via co-ax.

    :)
