Note the Quake I, II and III icons in the quicklaunch bar. - ooooh yeah. Quicklanch used to be really clogged (all the way over to the system tray) but I've just reinstalled and am missing a few things. The black theme works great except for in Photoshop where the buttons in the toolbar are black-on-black...

Can't use a unix machine as a desktop, the apps are simply not there. Better stop there so we don't turn the thread into a windows versus *nix one...

(Anyway, my server is freebsd, so I get the best of both worlds! :P)

Now get latest version of xine making sure that you make uninstall on any and all other versions of xine.
Get
xine-lib-0.9.1.tar.gz
xine-ui-0.9.1.tar.gz
xine_css_dvd_0.3.8.tgz
xine_dmd_plugin_0.9.2.tgz

I think the last one to install would be xine-ui-0.9.1.tar.gz
and if you remember to run ldconfig as root after the install & or edit /etc/ld.so.conf to point to /usr/local/lib or /usr/local/lib/xine

also you may need to pass ./config --disable-gtktest

or

I could try and build you a gzip package that you could execute as root in your / dir if that doesn't work, also there may be some rpms.
