i do situps most days, and am getting firmer in the stomach area, but still have a biting of flab, if u no wat i mean.

do you think it would help if i put on the tummy belt for 40 mins everyday?? or is it just another gimmick!

Iv never personally used toning belts but sit-ups may tone and firm your stomach it wont actually get rid of the flab around it. It could be different for men or women to lose weight around that area because instinctively(from hormone action i think) men's main fat storage is around the stomach and its the bum and thighs for women. So women might be able to lose fat around the stomach easier, id suggest maybe looking at your diet and seeing if you can throw somthing out of it that might not be helping? Cardio workouts are not a bad idea either.

But when it comes down to using toning belts, i don't know, if someone can give you their past experience on toning belts then they should tell you if the results are worth it,otherwise you should try some cardio or change your diet.

    Good luck :)

No amount of time with a toning belt is going to get rid of flab around your midsection. Cardio and diet are your best bet to get rid of flab and if you continue doing abs workouts you'll have a decent sixpack there to show off when the flab is gone...

I'd have to fully agree, there is nothing like the buzz from finishing a hard training session.

Let the endorphins loose, get out, do it and enjoy......

Best way to loose the flab is to target 3 key areas simulateously:
    (1) weight training - the reason I put this 1st is because it produces the
biggest results and accelerates the process of burning
fat. The science is that when you tone-up and increase
your muscle mass (& this does not mean bullk up) you
increase your body's ability to burn more fuel (i.e.
calories & fat) when you exercise and even when you
sleep. The act of breathing burns fuel in the body and
when you have a high ratio of muscle vs fat, you will will
    burn more.

Higher ratio of muscle vs fat will give you a higher
rate of metabolism (i.e. burns more calories quicker),
you may be heavier (as muscle weighs more than fat)
but you will look leaner, tighter & toned with a body to
die for (Madonna, 20 yrs ago, Britney 3 yrs ago). It will
also feel like you have more energy during & can increase
the sex drive in men & especially women, due to the
    internal & external physiological changes.

Remember to rest 48hrs before you work the same
muscle groups again to allow body to repair and rebuild
damaged tissue (at the microscopic level). This is how
the body adapts to training and gets better & stronger. A
good nights sleep is very important to promote recovery.

Note: it's a common mis-conception amongst women that
when they train with weights they will bulk up.
Contrary to this, it's only possible to bulk up if you
have the same levels of testosterone as men,
which is highly unlikely unless you have a beard,
take protein shakes, or male hormone injections ;)
    (2) Aerobic activity: this can be any aerobic exercise from brisk-walking,
cycling, swimming, aerobics etc. The most important
this to observe here is the pace. The level of intensity
should only be 55-65% of your maximum heart-rate. A
quick rule of thumb is that during the exercise you
should be able to hold a conversation without being
breathless. At this intensity which fitness instructors call
a "slow burn" the body will draw energy from the fat
reserves around the body and not the glucose in the
blood/muscles. The body usually burns up all the
immediate glucose after 15mins of aerobic activity so
your workout should be at least 20mins to burn any
    significant amount of fat.

Aerobic activity can be performed everyday unlike
    weight training.

Note: aerobic activity at higher levels of intensity i.e.
running, jogging, will utilize the cardio system
of the body where the focus is on training the
heart and lungs for fitness and efficiency and
not burn fat at an optimal level.
    (3) Diet: this is not to be confused with "dieting" which many women tend to
do. If means eating 4-5 meals at day (every 3-4hrs) of health food
like chicken breast, fish, eggs, milk (for your protein source) and
fresh fruit 'n' veg, whole meal bread, dark pasta for your carbs. If
can maintain ratio of 60:40 between protein & carb intact, that will
help your body function at sufficient energy levels and have enough
building blocks to recover from training.
Note: the reason for small but frequent meals is to fool the body's
survival mechanism into thinking that there is constant supply
of food and therefore no need to go into starvation mode,
where most food eaten will be stored as fat until the next
    meal arrives.

Hope this helps & good luck!

Sorry there was a typo in point number (3), it should be an intake of 60% carbs & 40% protein.

aah, the age old question of tummy flab.

diet. pure and simple. nothing will get rid of that paunch better than eating well. cardio will help burn cals, and doing sit ups will provide that oh so longed for flat toned ab pack.. but will only be seen when you lose the exces pounds through.. yup, you guessed it, your diet.

Run a search on Slendertone belts. You'll find a long, but hopefuly helpful post on the subject of toning belts and such. I go through the pros and cons...and I don't recomend them. If you can't find it pm me and I'll send you a copy.
