Is it just me or does anyone find her annoying? Apart from been the un-funniest guest on the panel EVER, The Sunday Tribune seem to love her. Apart from her weekly "column", she seems to strick her oar in everywhere. Yesterday there was a whole page dedicated to her new play !!!. Her "column" yesterday had some strange remarks altogether, she said when she was young she thought AIDS was hilarious, Hey I was young when AIDS made the headlines first I never thought it was funny. Then she tries to make amends by saying she has lost friends to AIDS, yeah of course you did Fiona, you move in such circles......

(maybe its just Monday)

Nope you're not the only one who finds her annoying. Hopefully she won't appear on The Panel again 'cause she was brutal on it.
I read her column in the Tribune once a while back and have never since.

Can I add my name to that list too? I can't stand the woman, especially when she's on the Panel. She thinks she's hilarious, but anything that comes out of her mouth is just cringeworthy.

She is (or maybe was) a regular on The Panel. Her main function there seemed to be to stop dead any hint of humour in any discussion she contributed to.

Totally unfunny. Gerry Ryan sometimes has her on the radio. Last conversation I heard them was all about knickers. Ryan was like a perv and she was very unfunny.

There should be a fight to the death between looney and ryan. and whoever survives must have the corpse of the other stuffed inside them.
I really don't like either of them as you can tell.

am I the only person who finds her funny? well I like her on the Gerry Ryan show. I don't watch the Panel so I cant really comment on that.

The very first time she was on the Late Late was the only time I found her slightly amusing - and even then, surprise surprise she was talking about excrement....
What is it with that woman and sh*te? Yes okay - she's full of it.

She comes up with the odd humourous remark, but 90% of what she says is quite the opposite - cringe-inducing.

On The Panel you could hear the nervous laughter from the audience when ever she tries to make a joke. She is just not suited to that show. Everyone else there is way too funny for her. She must have some connection though cos she's always on...

I gave up watching The Panel two years ago because of her cringe worthy jokes / stories. I started watching it again last year when Kathryn Thomas was on. I am now boycotting it again. Hopefully someone in RTE gets the picture soon.

I absolutely can't stand her and her unbelievably bad sarcastic dry humour. Shes like the female version of Jimmy Carr and I hate him! He was on a week or two ago and I wanted to go to the helix and smash their heads together and I'm not a violent girl but the pair of them wreck my head!

I can't believe theres a thread on her, we should send it in to the panel, although we probably won't get anywhere because I agree with other posts about her having dirt on somone so thats why shes still there. God you don't think shes sleeping with someone to stay in there? Urgh....

Grainne Seoige is bearable, but Pauline McGlynn is the best female panelist.

Perhaps boards should write a letter to Dara to let him know that she should be taken off the show. Lets face it she doesn't have any of the requirements of the token lady on the show.

1. She isn't good looking
2. She cann't blame her bad jokes on her good looks
3. She cann't blame her talentless self on her good looks

I think that must be the main problem though, her being "the token lady" on the show. If anybody with the slightest bit of talent was available for the show they would hopefully get them instead.

She tried a couple of things last night and was crowded out. Then it cut suddenly to the next topic...

Anybody else find the editing to be slightly poorer than previous weeks?

I don't think Fiona Looney is that unfunny. I mean, she is a reasonably witty person. It's just that on The Panel, in the company of some genuinely funny people (and Neil Delamare), she's absolutely crap. I hate the way Dara O'Briain introduces her as a 'Playwright'. It somehow gives her more credibility than her correct title of 'That woman off the Gerry Ryan show'.

Thankfully, I've never heard of this woman! Though if she's in with Gerry Ryan, then I must conclude on that alone that she's painfully unfunny and irritating. Really can't stand him!

I reckon she's the greatest advertisment going that women shouldn't have children. I've no idea what age she is but if you'd seen her a decade ago you might have thought she was a witty, attractive and presentable woman. Nowadays she usually turns up looking like a bag-lady, with a face that seems to have aged 30 years in 10, and not to mention more flat jokes than you could shake a nappy at.

Add my name to the list, she is just awful + she's the only one that laughs at her "jokes". i saw one of those "behind the scenes" programmes before and it showed the members of the panel looking thru the paper etc for funny news then they looked at what could be developed and used for the show so there is no excuse for here not being funny-she has time to practice! (There are also loads of "off the cuff" remarks & witty comments).
If they are looking for a token lady who's funny they should give Maeve Higgins, from Naked Camera & the Ray D'Arcy show, a try.

PS: While you're at it write to Dara and tell him to stop saying AAAHHHH every few minutes.

Fiona Bloody Pain-in-the-ass Looney.
Ive seen planks o fwood that were insightful and amusing than her... I mean literal planks of wood! They werent carved in any funny way they were just plain planks! I suggest we take these planks, knock her out with one drag her out of the studio and leave the plank in a wig and similar outfit. I would bet a large amount of money not one person would notice!

And then theres Grainne Seoige who cant quite seem to grasp the concept of comedy. She belongs on Questions&Answers because she seems to believe that the audience is interested in serious topical questions. Heres a clue Grainne WE'RE NOT! Its called a comedy show for a reason, the guys around you are making people laugh for a reason. You should not be aloud back on FOR A VERY GOOD REASON! YOU SUCK!

Ok I got a little too into the point there sorry! All Im saying is start finding funny women or stop putting on women all together because quite frankly as a woman Im embarased at the calibre of unfunny hacks they have on at the moment!

And if you cant find any funny women Im more than willing to go on! I may not be hilarious but Im funnier than the two of them!

Fiona Looney is NOT the worst person to grace the Panel-that title definitely goes to Grainne Seoige. The only contribution she makes is when she attempts to slag Andrew Maxwell, or when she comes over all 'serious journalist' when questioning the guests. I really think that the Panel should avoid using people like Grainne Seoige just for the sake of having a token female in the show

No way Fiona Looney has absolutely nothing going for her. :eek:

Grainne at least seemed to laugh naturally on Monday night.

I am sick of hearing about what bugs Fiona Looney, they cann't be have as annoying as Fiona Looney herself.

To be honest I think "serious journalist" is preferable to "crap playwright" in this circumstance, if you're going to put sombody out there with 3 comedians they either have to be funny enough to stand on their own or have a grounding in current affairs.

Fiona Looney seemed to have accomplished neither.

This has to be trolling surely? Fiona Looney is one of the two most annoying women on the planet, the other being Claire McKeown.

I can remember one time when the Panel was live, Looney tried for at least 20 minutes to butt in with a really dumb "joke". Luckily the others kept talking over her. Incidently Neil Delamere wasn't much better, he spent an entire episode repeating the same lame-ass Stira Attic Folding Stairs gag.

At least with editing they're able to cut out most of Looney's crap.

Grainne on the other hand knows when to say nothing, looks good (argueably the hottest unmarried mother in the country) and in the last episode was able to set up gags for the others with an occasional serious question.

Agreed, I absolutely despise Fiona Looney. I think shes only on the Panel so Colin Murphy doesn't go out of control. Also, whenever theres a guest on shes the only one that poses serious questions. For Gods Sake woman,its a comedy show!
