Ok judgeing by the way it is raining right now in north Dublin i'm guessing we'll be 900 foot beneath water by the morning. It's unreal, i left my window open and fell asleep..... Normally i'd sleep through the night with the window open cos i'd be under my electric blanket but tonight it wore me up.
I'd through a nucular war yet this work me up!
So to all you people online right now.... Christ aint it heavy!

I reckon its gonna be link this ALLLLLLLLLLLL Week! Boo!

I was downstairs watchin telly just now, and the mut kept jumping at the door to get out to go to the jacks...so he ran down the back of the garden, did his thing, ran back up...all in the space of a minute, and he was absolutely sopping when he got back in! :(

Get used to it...there's another 4 months or so to go! (this is my most hated time of year october/november)

The rain falling down in here in Carlow is end of the world-esque!, the ocean has probably receded to 50% to allow the amount of H2WHOA that's fallen out of the sky tonight!

I hope it pisses all day.finished work at 7am and there's no better feeling than curling up in the leaba and hearing the rain lashing against the window. I cant wait.

I'm currently implementing some drainage in the back garden and have a few trenchs dug out as well as a big hole about 1m by .4m wide, and 1.25m deep. A couple of days ago it had about 3 or 4 inchs of rain. Had a look out a few minutes ago and its full to the brim . God help any burglar who tries to jump over my wall :D .

    Staying warm = easy.
Staying dry = next to impossible.

ditto, I love listening to the rain too. Was up at six this morning watching breakfast TV and just ended up putting it on mute and listening to it pelting down outside..great stuff.

You should see me curling up in anger as my newly washed stretchy jeans get destroyed with filthy puddle water. Oh the hate and contempt that wells up in me for this country and its half ass year long rainforest like weather. You now what pisses me off more is when ppl complain about the cold there is no such thing in this godforsaken country. Cold = no rain long live the cold.
    Damn that rant felt good.
By the way I haven't worn wellies since I was 10.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,999 ✭✭✭solas

not at all, I think you should embrace the rain, don't fear the rain, the rain is nice, the rain is good, the rain is fun...now, when I snap my fingers you will wake up and feel a kindred spirit between you and the rain. and smile...and relax.

I walked home in clothes that were so wet they felt 9 times heavier than they actaually are. Rain is NOT GOOD!

Cold is also not good cos i've a head cold.... so moving fast it sore and bending down to pick something up is a death wish!

Anyone that can even entertain the thought that 'rain is good' must have a car, walking in the rain is a bloody b!tch, soaks up the legs of the trousers it's absolutely horrible, and with the weather being so unpredictable if you don't have an umbrella you're drenched! It's horrible!

But I do love the sound of the rain pattering on the house while inside.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,999 ✭✭✭solas

think how nice it will be to peel off those wet clothes and get into some nice warm dry sloggy soft fleecy sweats and curl up in a duvet next to the fire with a hot cup of chicken soup .

    the rain is your friend.

The worst part is, I really love the rain too, I even spent a few months in the US and got homesick because it never rained. But this morning, after driving through all the extra traffic, having water splashed up by passing truck, having to stop for all the flooded parts of road, getting soaked every time I tried to have a smoke because no matter which way the car turned the rain came straight in the window, I finally arrive at the office looking forward to spending the morning listening to it pelting down on the thin metal roof we have.....

    ....AND IT STOPPED

The only reason i hate the rain is it screws up the golf courses :( , tried to play yesterday and came home with half the irish countryside stuck to the bottom of my shoe. Dont think im gonna try it again, was a painful experience, no golf for a while :(.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,999 ✭✭✭solas

BUT, I hate being outside in it... This morning I was walking to the bus stop and some... bad person... drove in a puddle and splashed my legs :(

    Grrg.

The wind is worse than the rain, though, in my books. Nothing more frustrating than being thrown around the place while you're waiting for a bus. You are literally nature's play-thing! The wind was coming from all angles, too! I couldn't hide, cos it followed me and whooped my ass!

    :(

I love the rain.:D Especially when its really heavy with thunder and lightning.
Its even better when there is a power cut.(ok I admit I'm a freak).
I have a think for dark nights and days with the rain pouring down as hard as it could be.
