I agree, a Guitar Gas thread, a bass thread, and the AMPage thread!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Naw, i think we should leave it as it is, it's more fun this way.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Oooh! That's a damned good price too!

Yeah, that same thing is going for a whopping €3000 on Thomann, I'd say you might just get it shipped and import payed for around €2000.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

thats a serious saving tbh but its still 2 grand..worth it still and all

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Aye, if I didn't have the Stealth ever looming over my head, I'd snap it up sharpish.

That's why you'll never be mod, Jonny. There is too much GAS going round these parts to be confined to a single thread :p

Yeah, GAS is too dangerous to bottle up in such a small space

No, it's not, and truth be told I'm getting a little skeptical at this stage. That said, it's probably the only thing I'd actually put up with waiting for this lenth. It IS the Karl Hungus signiature model FFS, and as long as it eventually gets to me and is in full working order, no complaints.

I wish it would get here soon though, I want a 7 tuned ADGCFAD. That's going to ****ing rumble.

Christ, that first link is rather tasty indeed.

As for bottling up GAS, what'll happen when 4 or 5 of the Instruments posters meet up to see Steve Vai? That's not gonna be a pretty sight

    Porterhouse? Food? GUITARS!

Speaking of which, what do you think of that Blackmachine 8?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Whoops, that was actually a 7 string I posted. This is the 8 string:

    81.jpg
    82.jpg
    84.jpg

That's quite an amount of tuners, eh?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Porterhouse and Iskanders I think. You got the pm I assume.

I have never liked the head on those guitars. The seven was nice but I'm not too sure about the 8. Especially with all the tuners on one side.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Ah, I love it! Quite possibly the sexiest headstock I've seen, and the tuners on one side = pure style. One of the best looking guitars I've seen, honestly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

i'm wit karl on this one (i posted that 8 string earlier btw) the headstock is kinda minimilist which kinda somes up the guitar...well besides the amount of strings:p

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

    jcoote wrote:

Yeah, but I had meant to post the 8 before you did.

In fairness, the Conklins are insanely overpriced. Give me the likes of Blackmachine or LGM over them any day.

The 8 string black machine. And the black Tokai. And the Warlock. And Petrucci's 7 string. ****ing hell, I need a new guitar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

I have to say after looking at Conklin's site there's not one guitar I'd pick up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

Well, I've a few cardboard boxes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,217 ✭✭✭Rustar

I call dibs on the second SLATQH burl archtop and the black polka-dot Kramer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

I want the white soloist and the custom 89 King V, oooh i'm drooling.

Rustar, you can have your share if you boost a van for us.

Fey - the cardboard gets you a couple of leads.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

2 of those RR's will do me thanks. And leads are always handy!

that buskin guitar... looks pretty nice, ideal for buskin? it wouldn't look out of place on a stage either

    also quick question
some1 came upto me when i was buskin with my jackson, and said that its unusual to see a jackson with a normal trem, that most of them have a floyd rose trem... i haven't really paid attention, but i haven't seen that many jacksons besides my own anyway
does anyone else percieve this to be the case?
