FM06 Price Comparison

Okay folks!

Seeing as the game is out Friday (usually can be bought on the Thursday evening though), I thought it might be a good idea to post where you got it and how much you paid for it.

I remember last year getting it €10 cheaper in Virgin than it was in Game (in the Blanchardstown Centre), even though the shops are directly across from each other!

Hopefully it'll help people save a few quid, that money could be important in buying the GF a present to make up for spending all your time with the new purchase. Or perhaps it might be useful when you take "one too many" days off work to be at home with the "beloved".

Im gonna head down to the Blanch Centre tomorrow and see what places are selling it. Hopefully I can convince someone to sell it to me and if not try and convince em to sell me Pro Evo 5

I got it on the Thursday evening last year in Virgin, Blanch. It was out in Game too. I think they just put it on the shelf on the Thursday anyway to save them the effort on the Friday morning.

Haven't a clue mate, sorry. I'd imagine HMV/Virgin/Game/PC World would have it on Friday morning and probably even Thursday evening. Not too sure about GameStop or Smyths though tbh.

i ordering my copy through play.com, checked and they posted it today so fingers crossed i will get it n friday but if not then monday. Doesnt really matter as im working on saturday and sunday.

Havent played the strawberry copy of the game yet even though i downloaded it 2 weeks ago. I suppose i want to leave it as a surprise and anyways the EL isnt in it.

Whats the main new differences in the game, I read the game feautres on their website and nothing special to be honest. The new player interaction function sounds good but could make the game very messy and too detailed. I might wait for a while for prices to drop or "internet" versions to appear.

Anwyays I'm enjoying 2005 too much to just stop and I doubt there is much player transfers etc etc. Well I'll wait till you all have it the nget some views on it.

I got it the exact same way, except when I went into World Pay, I changed the currency to euro and got it for €29.60.

It all depends on your situation. If you have money to buy it and aren't already engrossed in an FM05 game, go for it. If you are maybe you should wait another while until its a bit cheaper and you aren't still playing FM05 regularly.

play.com messed up my order.

They sent me a game called warriors for the playstation even though the receipt inside the package states FM 2006 clearly. Now have to send it back either for a full refund or FM 2006 itself.Can i wait another week for the game!! Is it worth waiting a week to save yourself 15 euro

Why not buy it in a shop, and then when your play copy comes in take it to the shop still in its plastic seal and ask for a refund. Seeing as how you haven't opened it they should refund what you payed for it.

well im going to post that ****ty game play.com sent me by mistake and ask for a refund. The post box in the mail room in my apartment building isnt big enough for the parcel to go in so i was lucky to regularly check for the game as it was half hanging out of the post box, anyone could have taken it.

Off to HMV in grafton street in the morning to get the game as not waiting another week just to save 15 euro

Finaly got my copy in the post today. Ordered 2 months ago from play and they posted it last wednesday. Will fire it up maybe tonight.

I wouldn't be in a hurry to get it, it's a bit of a disappointment tbh. Match engine and feeling of the game/tactics isn't right, and it's not vastly different to 2005 (apart from these bad points).

Im not disappointed, not huge differences between them but then I wasn't expecting them to. I'm not sure what you mean by the engine, feeling of the game/tactics not being right

Well, once you play for a while, many people notice ridiculous performances and results for no apparent reason, and players not sticking to the tactics laid out.

There are horror stories of experienced CM/FM players facing relegation with Chelsea!
