    I forgot about this one. It's ****ing deadly. Fair play to Schneider TM for making it sound like their own (to anyone who doesn't know it's a cover of The Smiths' "There is a light that never goes out")

    Pretty much the only band i'd listen to daily, best band ever IMO, nothing beats collecting their boot CDs and DVDs.
    Red Mosquito is savage, definately in my top 20 PJ songs.

    On topic!:
    PJ do a quality Baba O'Riley,
    Also Ed's solo version of Tom Petty's "I wont back down" is excellent.
    I could list so many others because 99% of the songs they cover are top notch!

    Ah, Pearl Jam.... When I discovered how good they were I couldn't believe I'd wasted so much time listening to Radiohead. I still like Radiohead, of course...

    Speaking of Radiohead, their cover of "Nobody Does it Better" is class.

    Jeff Buckley:

    * I Shall Be Released (Bob Dylan)
    * Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen / John Cale)
    * Je n'en connais pas le fin (Edith Piaf)
    * Yeh Jo Halkka Saroor Hai (Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan)
    * Dinks Song (Traditional)
    * Satisfied Mind (Porter Wagoner)

    Each one performed live and absolutely engrossing and mind-blowing. What a voice, what a guitarist, what a loss.

    the best cover i've ever heard is jamie lawson's one of "blame it on the boogie" (michael jackson). he makes it sound like the most beautiful, heart-wrenching song i've ever heard. i heard it on the radio a few times and then it was a happy accident that i saw him perform it and it was great. i only wish i could buy it or download it on the internet somewhere. if anyone knows how to get their hands on it-please post a reply! cheers...

    There's an article about covers in the latest issue of The Wire. It's a bit pretentious though but what do expect from The Wire?

    Heh. Yea. Friend of mine asked him to put it as a b side on his next single, but he said he couldn't afford to pay the royalties for it or something, so he can only play it live. Bring a recording device to one of his gigs is your best bet. Though he doesn't play it too often...

    It's a good article. I like the magazine but sometimes it needs to lighten up. Is quite difficult to buy in rural Ireland.

    I agree with you totally. The interviews are normally top notch but the features are very hit and miss. Sometimes they are inspired and other times they suck the life out of what they are writing about. This covers article was somewhere in the middle. I remember a couple of months ago they did a feature on humour in song and totally missed out on the humour.
