Ok heres the deal I love my eggy bread. Basically I beat two eggs, dip wholgrain bread in it and then fry it in a little extra virgin olive oil  Anyway it tastes so good it cant be healthy and lets face eggy bread has never been regarded as the healthiest. But my question is why. All ingredients seem healthy eggs, wholgrain bread, olive oil and it seems like the perfectly balance meal i.e. carbs in the bread, protein in the eggs and healthy fats in the olive oil. Am i being silly and missing something here( maybe its the proportions of potein to carbs to fat or something?). How could that not be good for you?

its not the worst food ever, but i think some people load it with jam or sugar or ketchup or something along those lines.

Instead of using two whole eggs, maybe try one yolk and two whites. The yolk of an egg is the fatty bit, whereas the whites are made of little else than protein. and maybe use a non-stick omelette pan and no oil.

and itsnot quite balanced, you need some veg or fruit in there too. maybe a big salad on the side?!

but hey, if you like it, and only eat it in moderation, go for it, certainly better than a double cheesburger :)

You are right in that seperately the 3 ingredients are healthy - but Olive oil is only good for you if eaten cold. This type of oil, the real thick stuff, changes it's structure when heated, and is actually quite bad for you - sticks in your arteries! So great cold, not to be heated! For frying, use a thin vegetable oil, like rapeseed oil or something, but only a little.

I don't believe the hype about eggs being full of cholesterol and bad for you, but I wouldn't eat them too often fried, anything fried isn't good for you, but everything in moderation!

they are full of cholestrol but it is dietary cholestrol and this doesnt raise your cholestrol, levels at all.
Personally i never mix carbs and fats as its basically fat city due to the response in blood sugars.
The only BAD thing about the meal is you fried it in oil as said above
